I mean, he's somewhat right. The Reds have a team, even their BAD hitters, they are guys who have 20-25 HR power. Frazier, Mesoraco and Cozart. Obviously, Choo, Votto, Bruce and Phillips have power.
The key is...the Reds aren't going to consistently take great pitchers deep. You aren't going to hit 4 solo HR's, in a playoff game against say, Adam Wainwright. -

The HF advantage was Leake was awesome and the bullpen finished it off. -

Yep. You need to know how to manufacture runs in the playoffs against the best pitching. And when you can't do that, you're going to have to get a timely RBI single w/ 2 outs. Reds don't really do that against good pitching/teams. They are essentially doomed for another one and done in the playoffs. Unfortunate, too. Lots of Pirates fans on Facebook and Twitter upset about Chapman's pitch in the 9th.
I looked it up, Reds batters have definitely been on the receiving end so far this year. Pirates batters have been hit 5 times this year. Reds batters have been hit 8.
Tomorrow should be fun. -

If by now people dont see that Chapman is still wild, they never will. Pirates pitchers have hit more batters then any team. They've also been hit the most. I guess I can see them being upset since it was up and in. But we arent sitting here bitching about the 2 straight that almost hit choo above the shoulders in his at bat.... -

With Morton pitching today, no one will know if any hit batters are intentional if his control is anything like it was in his first start. Think he hit three batters in his six or so innings of work. Yeah, last night's match-up, on paper, probably was a wash. Tonight on the other hand favors the Reds by a decent margin. Especially since you guys put Broxton on the DL, so he can't fuck up Latos' start for you for once this year. -

I don't trust Leake I don't care if he has a 0 ERA. Hopefully, he proves me wrong and has really learned how to throw.
How about Cingrani in the pen? If somehow they get Marsh and Brox back, those 2 + Cingrani and Chapman is a NASTY pen. Nasty.
I still think the Reds will acquire a left-handed reliever and another infielder for the stretch run though. -

His stuff is iffy but I think he "gets" it. Maybe that won't take him to Maddux career or even Bronson's....but I definitely trust him. -

I feel like sometimes people forget that Leake came straight from ASU to the league. His minor league years were spent learning against the best hitters in the game, which will lead to some hard times, but it seems he has gotten through it. There will be games when he gets hammered, but he's been damn good so far.

Part of the "he gets it" I'm speaking of.....no way in hell do you throw 91 mph and skip the minors unless you have some special attributes. -

Fact of the matter is, he's never been bad for a #5 guy. Two years ago he had a sub 4.00 era over 170 innings.
