Doesn't the "book" say that on a suicide squeeze with one out with runners on 1st and 3rd, that both runners go with the pitch? I thought these people claim they practice these things over and over in spring training.
LOL no -

I don't understand why not. The runner on 3rd is assuming the bunt is going down, so there is nothing further risked for the runner on 1st to assume the same. Now if there are none out, maybe he plays it more cautiously to not risk a triple play.Midstate01;1449425 wrote:No. You cant assume anything as a runner. -
SportsAndLadyZomg they hit choo! Intentional!!

Because its stupid. Im not even reading your posts. The first sentence is enough for me to reply. You're using after the fact logic. Which makes no sense here. -
mhs95_06
That's why I have him in fantasy where there is no penalty for bad defense. That's also why I didn't have Brandon Phillips in years past, because there is no reward for good defense!se-alum;1449426 wrote:LOL....I'm not sure I've seen a worse catcher than Carlos Santana. -

Why would you give up an extra out if you don't have to? There was still a chance to score with a runner on 3rd?mhs95_06;1449437 wrote:I don't understand why not. mhs95_06Both catchers botching defensive plays.

It is not stupid! It is a matter of a well coached team knowing the proper play before the sign is given!Midstate01;1449440 wrote:Because its stupid. Im not even reading your posts. The first sentence is enough for me to reply. You're using after the fact logic. Which makes no sense here. -
Midstate01Whatever.

It's stupid. It's literally one of the more stupid things I've ever heard.mhs95_06;1449448 wrote:It is not stupid! It is a matter of a well coached team knowing the proper play before the sign is given!
He runs, it's a double play. Period. -
mhs95_06
And he is also a pretty bad base-running coach also!Midstate01;1449376 wrote:Votto is such a bad base runner -
Laley23I didnt see whatever play you guys are talking about.
But if I am correct it is runners on 1st and 3rd with 1 out and a suicide/bunt that is popped into the air. If its a bunt, you dont just automatically run. If its a squeeze, you absolutely are running on contact. Whats the point of waiting? -
se-alumThese Indians announcers are the biggest homers I've ever heard. They're still calling the Cozart line drive down the line yesterday a foul ball.

I'm sure Choo was running, but was told to come back when the ball got popped up. mhs95 is saying that Choo should've kept running in spite of the popped up bunt and just taken a double play to end the inning. -

It was a high popped up bunt. Giving the runners enough time to stop and retreat. Then reynolds dropped it. MHS thinks choo should he halfway I guess -

Was there a runner on 3rd? And was he running?se-alum;1449460 wrote:I'm sure Choo was running, but was told to come back when the ball got popped up. mhs95 is saying that Choo should've kept running in spite of the popped up bunt and just taken a double play to end the inning.
That is what Im confused about. Cause if there was, then Choo doesnt even matter. But I dont know the whole landscape.
