I think Hoover has nasty stuff, he just can't throw anything but a fastball for a strike right now. He's the weakest link the in bullpen since Parra's "injury".

They may opt to send him down, monitor his innings, and bring him on next year into the rotation. Hoover is giving up nearly 2 earned runs per inning. He needs to go down and find his control.
Are you thinking of someone else? Hoover has a 3.78 ERA so is giving up basically a run every 2 innings, but has only allowed 2 ER in his last 11 innings(both last appearance) He has definitely stepped it up since the rough start.

Yeah, I'd looked as his numbers and until his last appearance, it looked like he'd turned it around.

Unless he's struggled with control and his improvement was more superficial or something.

I wholeheartedly agree with Dddusty to bat Leake, and less firmly agree on sending Leake back outto pitch, but I strongly disagree with him not being taken out right away when one batter reaches base. To me that is one of Dusty's glaring weaknesses - letting the SP have too much rope when he is late in the game. Maybe that is what Walt wants - to lessen the # of quality starts for arbitration and negotiating purposes!

Gotta remember that ERA for relievers doesn't count for inherited runners that score. Trust me, I'm a big fan of Hoover's, but he just isn't getting it done right now.

I think the hugging thing is one of those things that if it's your team, you think it's funny and cool. But everyone else kind of looks at it like...wtf? that's weird.
