hahaha I typed up a post saying it must have been one with his chin buried in Uggla's neck but deleted it. I think he saves those ones for Uggla.

1-1 after 5... Leake at 72 pitches, Minor at 83
  • Midstate01
    Uggla has another. Ballpark style
  • Midstate01
Thought leake had him k'd twice too
  • sherm03
Let's intentionally walk Uggla from now on.

Thankfully they cut back to action before another awkward dugout hug.

Leake got hosed on that one. Painted the corner twice and didn't get the call. Still, Uggla can't hit anything other than the inside pitch, so you can't keep throwin' it there.

Important 2nd half of this game for the reds. Need to take 2 of 3 at home vs good teams
  • osu45804
Yeah, Leake definitely got the hosed there.... Uggla was out at least twice that at-bat

    Sick burn. :)

Leake may very well get a hit here..but seriously. Why the hell is he batting??

Is the bullpen that taxed? I'm kind of surprised that Minor is still in there, even with a couple of arms unavailable today.

    Dusty baker
  • SportsAndLady

No better right-handed option off the bench for the Reds.
  • karen lotz
I mean at least throw someone up there so Fredi is forced to get into his pen too. I doubt Minor faces a PH there.

    Disagree.

That's a decision I actually agree with Dusty on. Why burn a pinch hitter when there is nobody on the bench who is really a better hitter than Leake? Paul would've been the only other consideration...and he's a lefty.

    Could go either way...
  • Midstate01
No way id have leake out there in the 8th.

With 2 on and down a run, with 7 outs left. Yes id pinch hit...without question.
  • Azubuike24
Now, I disagree with keeping Leake out there to pitch the 8th...but batting him was the right call. No way he holds this at 2-1...

...and hit who? Corky? Every other option is far better as a lefty, or lefty only.
  • Midstate01
    I fucking hate baker
  • sherm03
Fuck. This will at least be 3-1 now going into the bottom of the 8th.

Leake is a pitcher. He sees a lot of hittable pitches JUST because of that. Thinking he was the best option there was just stupid.

That being said, leaving him out there for the 8th was a even more retarded decision.

Baker is a full on fucktard
  • sherm03
    Fuck.
