hines ward and sweed are available
    1. Other than Brown, I disagree with the other guys being as effective as Little.

    2. What the hell does the steelers thing WRs corp have anything to do with the Browns?

    3. If you are hoping your WRs corp is "just as good as david nelson and greg little," then the Steelers have fallen much further than I thought.

Agreed. Probably a tossup between them and Pittsburgh. Can't believe I'm saying that considering how craptastic our WR group has been in the past but I'm pretty comfortable with Gordon, Little, Benjamin and, if he stays healthy, Nelson. Could still use one more legit threat though.

wow sense of humor is rough around here today...i said it in response to his sweed comment and hes a browns fan...slow it down

Brown and Miller...and he's hurt. Sweed is a bum, and Plax is old. This is not good.

Maybe something will happen with a FA, but I doubt it.

Legit threat, we'll have to see what Jordan can do. Its time for him to develop. With Richardson in the backfield, long as Weeden can get his head out of his ass I think we'll be fine on Offense.

Browns are serious business gblock, and you have a history of pathetic trolling attempts in the browns thread. You no longer get the benefit of the doubt.

If the Steelers don't do anything about the WRs, I just don't see Brown doing much as a real #1, especially up against people like Haden.

I'm confident Brown can be a #1, but he MUST have a decent group around him. Right now he doesn't...at all.

one attempt/=history you have 1000% more trolling attempts than i do for example the sweed comment

but as long as im trolling...browns talk is only serious business in the offseason...by week 8 you start looking forward to next year

Agree. Brown is good but if has has to be the main focus, Roethlisberger is probably going to get beat up a lot more than he does right now looking for an open receiver.

You had more than one. Nice fail.

I can't rattle the names off of my head, but Pitts may be looking at pass catching TE early, but other than the ND guy....who else is there?

I've seen them linked to Eifert (Notre Dame), for the most part. That would be a solid get.

brown was a sixth round pick...sanders and wallace were third rounders. if he goes im sure we can get someone as good or better in the third or even later.

I guess I am more thinking of a star #1. Yes I agree he can be a true #1 on a team's depth chart, but imo he isn't going to be mentioned with the other legit #1's unless he actually has help. Basically he won't make the other WRs on his team better, while imo legit #1's make average/slightly above average WRs a lot better.

I dont think brown should be our #1 too short...we def need some help but our recieving core was in similar shape a few years ago even worse factoring in the sweed pick.. and we made three good picks...we just have to do it again

This is being EXTREMELY optimistic considering Colbert's recent drafts have left something to be desired. Seems like he's drafted a bunch of JAG's (just a guy) and no real "impact" type players, especially on defense.
  • Gblock
well we have had the #1 defense last few years...while they havent created a lot of turnovers.

while i wouldnt be surprised if they match the offer...adding a third round pick could allow them to maybe draft lacy in the first round to adress running back needs which imo is a more dire situation than reciever. or vaccaro if he is there. we have lots of needs and while i agree rookie recievers dont always work out the best this seems like a deep class which could allow us some flexibillty in drafting the best on the board in round 1 or 2.
  • BR1986FB
Do they have the money to match the offer? If NE loaded it up heavy enough, they may not be able to.

so far i cant find any links saying how much...only that it probably isnt much more than the 1.323 we offered.

but i think we are only currently 1.92 mill under the cap
