Game 29 | Cleveland @ Phoenix | December 21, 2009 | 9:00 EST
-
hoops23Still undefeated as thread starter, we need to win this game, so here it goes...
Starting Line ups:
Cleveland Cavaliers
PG Mo Williams
SG Anthony Parker
SF LeBron James
PF JJ Hickson
C Shaq
Phoenix Suns
PG Steven Nash
SG Jason Richardson
SF Grant Hill
PF Channing Frye
C Amar'e Stoudemire
Keys to the game per RCF..
- Cavaliers need fluid ball movement throughout all 4 quarters to develop positive habits
- Resist LeIso!
- Fast break defense must be key against Run & Gun Suns
- Pick and Roll defense will really be tested since Nash & Amar'e'e' will run it till the cows come home
- Maintain Championship-caliber focus...biggest long-term challenge
- Build up a lead to test roleplayers out in more minutes. Cavs have been playing way too many tight games and in addition to resting key starters, the bench needs more confidence going into LA
- Let Boobie shoot it when hot. For God's sakes, doesn't get any simpler than that
Christmas Wish List:
- Develop an offense with ball movement, set plays (this will neutralize Mike Brown's 4th quarter influence)
- Creative feed Shaq (off the ball, cuts, etc.)
- Leave JJ in despite small defensive mistakes - boy needs swag
- Defensive focus for all quarters, against all teams
- Trade Mike Brown for Amare and Bosh -
pbuckI feel the Cavs will win tonight but they will need a better effort than last night in Dallas IMO GO CAVS !
-
wes_mantoothStill undefeated as a thread starter?
You need to start the Laker/Cavs in game thread......NOW!!! -
MulvaWow. Today was the first time I've looked at the standings in a while. Only 5 teams in the east above .500?
How does the gap between the 2 conferences just keep getting bigger? Memphs, currently 13th in the West, would be the #6 seed in the East right now. That's awful.
But for this game... feed Shaq early and often. Amare will either get into foul trouble or allow him to score at will, and he's the only one of Phoenix with a prayer of stopping Shaq inside. -
NateLebron just posterized Amare.
-
MulvaWell, my Shaq plan kind of backfired.
He gets in foul trouble and Amare is scoring at will. Not at all how I drew it up. -
pbuck30-29 Cavs down one after the first....Good offensive quarter for the Cavs but the D gotta slow down PHX a little bit
-
Trueblue23I hate him, but that little bastard Steve Nash can still play.
-
Fab4Runner
How can you hate my Canadian lover? Dude is hilarious.Trueblue23 wrote: I hate him, but that little bastard Steve Nash can still play. -
pbuckCavs up 6 @ the break..... the D turned over PHX in the second quarter that got the Cavs back in the game & then built a lead so far so good LET'S GO CAVS !!!!!
-
hoops23
He probably hates him because he got 2 mvps over his boy.Fab4Runner wrote:

hoops23Cavs win 109-91.
Dominated the 4th. -
FootwedgeGreat blowout win. Everyone played great....except for.....
19 minutes...3 points ...5 boards and 4 turnovers.
Happy to see Brown sit his ass for the whole 4th quarter -
Trueblue23
No, I hate him because he plays for Phoenix.LTrain23 wrote:

What don't you understand about Shaq? They didn't pick him up to score 20 and 10 in December moron!Footwedge wrote: Great blowout win. Everyone played great....except for.....

hoops23Some people don't realize that Shaq isn't going to bring it in the regular season.
He knows what he's doing and so do the Cavs. He's being preserved for the playoffs.
Also, I'm still undefeated as thread starter -
sportswizuhrdAnyone else see Delonte go in for a lay-up, get fouled to the floor, look at the camera and say "I love this game". Hahaha. Him and LeBron busted out laughing right after he said it. I hope this means he his back to his normal self that we all love as a Cav.

Funny how LTrain and I can disagree...but not you, pudwhacker.SportsAndLady wrote:

Quote from tonight's preview.
"Cleveland (20-8) acquired the 15-time All-Star hoping he'd be the last piece to help lead it to its first championship, but so far he's looked like little more than a highly paid role player. O'Neal is averaging 10.6 points, 7.0 rebounds and shooting 50.3 percent -- all career lows -- in the Cavaliers' half-court offense."

And he leads the fuckin team in turnovers per minute with his behind the back horse shit. Pay attention.
,...Shaq's big fat ass will be on the bench in the come 4th quarters of playoff games.
He blows. -
Footwedge
Docs put him on the good shit...it's obvious.sportswizuhrd wrote: Anyone else see Delonte go in for a lay-up, get fouled to the floor, look at the camera and say "I love this game". Hahaha. hoops23Footwedge, I guarantee you won't be calling Shaq garbage in April. The plan all along was to get Shaq limited minutes so he'd be fresh as possible in the postseason.
I can't stand when people just bitch about certain players. Nobody was bitching when we got him, but now that he's not averaging 20/10, everybody goes into panic mode.
LOOK AT THE FUCKING ORLANDO GAME! Hell, even the Boston game, for instance.. He finally gave us a legit inside presence that KG and Perkins had to pay attention too. In fact, not only was Howard in foul trouble all game, but I believe Perkins was too.
Stop being so damn quick to jump off a players bandwagon. Could you imagine Z as our everyday starting center? I couldn't.. Not now..
We need a legit 4. That's it. -
jpake1Not making this personal with any Cavs fan, but I find it absolutely funny that fans are saying they need a legit 4 guy, but the team just payed andy a good amount of money. A pretty expensive bench player.
-
Footwedge
Then we agree to disagree. I posted the preview from the NBA clearly showing that his numbers have tanked big time. It's a shame that Z has slipped a little as well.LTrain23 wrote: Footwedge, I guarantee you won't be calling Shaq garbage in April. Shaq was the most dominant player in the NBA for about 10 years. He is a shadow of what he once was.
It's not his fault...it's called mother time. Phoenix unloaded Shaq because they tanked with him in the line up.
Tonight's game...no Shaq in crunch time to stop Stoudamyer...Brown knows what's going on. -
hoops23Shaq isn't suited to stop Amar'e.. He didn't have to either..
Phoenix unloaded Shaq because he didn't fit their system, despite averaging 19 and 8 last season.. -
pbuckGood Win by da CAVS 21 wins now let's make it 22 on wensday
-
SQ_CraziesWhy is anyone even attempting to argue with Footwedge? He's Phil Jackson, don't you know?
