3 Will Rise...3 Will Fall (2013)

  • Ironman92
Let's put out there who we think will rise up in a big way or fall down by great measures. (athletes or teams)

    3 to Rise

    1. Dodgers
    2. Ricky Fowler
    3. Brooklyn Nets

    3 To Fall

    1. Rex and Rob
    2. Big East
    3. Yankees

    1. Usain Bolt
    2. SEC
    4. Nadal

Good call on Johnson....Duke and Peyton will have to win it all to fit the mold.

    Cool thread.

    Rise:
The Browns with a new HC and management. They will not finish last in the division and I expect them to be on the fringe of making the playoffs.
The Cavs, with another offseason and the rest of this season for player development, I expect them to be a playoff team next year.
Akron Zips football. I expect them to be at least .500 next year, even after only beating 1 FBS team in the past 3 years.

    Fall:
    Pittsburgh Steelers
Big East will no longer exist
The Knicks I guess. Expect them to have a pretty good year, but are too old to have any sustained level of success over a multiple seasons.
I might have put Rex, but I believe he has already "fell"

Rex has already fallen....but if he gets canned that will be equal to having Duke or Peyton rising...they need to win it all.

Agree on the Browns....I still have a year of faith left in this Steelers squad.

Cavs might be a lottery and a FA from the playoffs.

    3 to rise...
    1. The greatest golf rivalry of all time, Tiger and Rory will dominate in 2013, both are healthy and really looking to just absolutely take over
    2. Cincinnati Reds: If Billy Hamilton becomes an impact player and Chapman becomes the great starter I believe he will, this team will become an absolute power
    3. LA Clippers continue their rise and become the favorite in the west, maybe even winning this seasons NBA title

    3 to fall...
    1. LA Angels will miss the playoffs this upcoming season, terrible pitching staff and how many times have super powered offenses with rotations failed. Also Hamilton is not a very durable player at all
    2. Michigan will continue the trend of missing the B1G championship, losing the division to Michigan State
    3. The Boston Celtics will go the way of the way of the Pistons and begin a long term decline

I think a lot of people are seeing the Browns and Cavs as "close". As for my Akron prediction, it is a prediction that only I really have the knowledge to make. A lot of young talent that showed promise this season. While the W/L was unchanged. The Zips were improved in every category this season. They were also competitive in every game until late with the exception of UCF (TB's first game) and NIU (BCS bound). They lacked depth.

Ill take your post as a compliment

I'm a Browns fan, and it's very optimistic to view them as "close".

Yeah that team is very far from the other three IMO, the others are consistent playoff contenders at the moment while the Browns are far away from sniffing the playoffs. Their D isn't bad but that offense isn't even competitive

A lot of that has to do with their dipshit coach who will be gone after this season. Splitting with Pittsburgh and Cinci isnt "very far".

    1. Kentucky to Elite 8
    2. Tiger Woods
    3. Seattle Seahawks

    1. Anaheim Angels
    2. Playoff success of Deron Williams
    3. LSU & CGW

Pistons beat Miami tonight. Does that mean they're not far off?

REPS! Just for your fall #3. Here is mine

Rise: 1) Tiger/Rory Golf Rivalry, 2) Tony Romo, 3) FSU Football

Fall: 1) The Big East, 2) SEC, 3) LA Angels

Oh please this team isn't even close to the playoffs. This isn't a situation like the Lions who got decimated by injuries this season, they don't have the tools IMO to be a playoff team

How can you think they aren't close? 2 more wins puts them at 7-9 this season and then they would have made the playoffs!

LOL at using injuries as an excuse. The Lions were not going anywhere this year even with a full team, sorry. They still had their two best players on offense and only managed to get 4 wins. Nice job being delusional.
  • Pick6
Not like the Browns were missing two of their best defensive players for a solid part of the season or their best weapon was banged up all season. You wouldnt know if you didnt follow the Browns, though. Doesnt surprise me of Classyposter.

Uh with a full team they went 10-6 last season
