Baltimore Ravens @ Pittsburgh Steelers

Heretic
AKA: They didn't want to be in Pittsburgh during the season-opening game with an insanely electric crowd ready to go nuts cheering on the defending champs in their first REAL game since that Super Bowl. After going 0-3 against them last year, the Ravens didn't want to be in a "behind-the-eight-ball" situation right off the bat.killer_ewok wrote: From what that link says the Ravens put in a scheduling request to the league because they didn't want to play a prime time game in Pittsburgh for a third straight year.
Shit, they got beat in broad daylight at Heinz Field today so I guess it really doesn't matter. -
Heretic
Pittsburgh has too much of an aversion to letting the margin be 10+ points for me to say they'd beat anyone in the NFL by 10. It's like clockwork right now....they get up by 10 and they IMMEDIATELY give up points.september63 wrote: Ive previousy said, Ill pull for Pitts. Its sad the NYJ control their own destiny. Pitts woulld beat them by 10 if they played anywhere next week!! -
september63Really doesnt matter. The Ravens are in control of their destiny and Pitts needs NYJ and Houston to lose. Unfortionately, of the other 4 teams, Pitts holds the tiebreaker over only Denver.
-
Puddle Jumper
You are correct but Pittsburgh is hoping Houston and the Jets lose because they will be in no matter what Baltimore does if those teams lose.bigdaddy2003 wrote:
Ha I wasn't directing that only to you. I didn't want you to think I was bad mouthing you. I was just confused lol.capninsano wrote: Actually...they are correct...forget my previous post lol
They beat Denver so they will get in over Denver.
So Steeler fans should be cheering on the Bengals this week. -
killer_ewokGO BENGALS AND GO PATRIOTS!
-
killer_ewok
Yep, Bengals-Jets is now the Sunday night NBC game for week 17.Non wrote: The flex schedule for the final week can be made six days ahead of time.
It's an exception to the usual rule.
They'll probably decide tonight.
Philly vs. Dallas would be a possibility unless Dallas has appeared too many times on primetime. I think there is a rule about that. -
newarkcatholicfanIs there any shock that the Ravens had so many calls go against them at so many critical points of this game?
-
killer_ewok
After seeing the replays I wasn't shocked at all. They were the correct calls. The Ravens made a lot of dumb mistakes and it cost them.newarkcatholicfan wrote: Is there any shock that the Ravens had so many calls go against them at so many critical points of this game? -
bigdaddy2003Yeah, they have a penalty problem that is for sure.
-
Heretic
Of course not. It's obvious that the NFL wanted Pittsburgh to win, so they had their refs screw over the Ravens in order for that to happen. And then, to ensure the Steelers make the playoffs, they moved the Bengals-Jets game from 1 p.m. to Sunday night. Now, not only is Pittsburgh likely in BIG trouble if Houston beats New England at 1 (because then they'd need Baltimore to lose to Oakland), but if New England wins, they're also screwed (because Cincy would be locked into the #4 seed and could rest starters against the Jets, likely ensuring that team would win and beat out the Steelers).newarkcatholicfan wrote: Is there any shock that the Ravens had so many calls go against them at so many critical points of this game?
Oh...wait...that doesn't seem to fit with the insinuation that the league (via the refs) is trying to help the Steelers. Making your point 100% invalid. -
FootwedgeHa ha...LMAO at the Bengals layin down for the Jets. Maybe coach Ryan will rattle off the Bengal "injury list" like he did for the Colts.
How sweet it would be...to see the Steeler fans going through what the Browns went through 2 years ago...when Peyton and the boys laid down for the Titans. -
Strapping Young Ladi would not have been smiling if I were Mr. Mason. That was terrible.

bigdaddy2003
Yeah, it was pretty bad.Strapping Young Lad wrote: i would not have been smiling if I were Mr. Mason. That was terrible. -
killer_ewokYeah, Mason's drop reminded me of Joe Burnett vs. The Raiders earlier this year and of Limas Sweed, well, all the time.

BTW, glad to see I could help you with your signature, maybe you should take that advice from a man who is wiser than you. -

It was bad, but Mason has made plenty of big catches in his career. He has earned the right not to catch too much grief over one drop.bigdaddy2003 wrote:

charliehustle14I didn't want to make a new thread about it, but as a side note, Troy Smith (OSU alum and Heisman winner) will seek a new team at the end of the season.

bigdaddy2003
No, actually I didn't know dumbass and you aren't wise. You are just a jackass. I could care less what your little opinions are. You give the other Steeler's fans on here a bad name. Let me guess you are one of those fans who live vicariously through your team? Do you tell people you have 6 Super Bowl rings? You're a tool. Oh and saying pound salt doesn't make you wise. It just shows you're obviously an old douchebag because no one says that shit these days. You just need to give it a rest. When your fellow Steeler's fans are telling you to settle down you are acting like a dolt.rock_knutne wrote:

That is true. Clayton is usually our dropper. Mason has came up big a few times this season.Walt wrote:
