Steelers vs Packers

Head-to-head is the first tiebreaker in the NFL.
  • Non
It goes by head-to-head if two teams are tied.

Or if three teams are tied and they each played the other.

In the case of Baltimore, Denver and Pittsburgh for example they might all be 9-7.

    Denver lost to both.

Now in this scenario it's a bit more complicated but it eventually arrives at the same point.

Since Baltimore and Pittsburgh are in the same division, a tiebreaker must determine the top team in the division and eliminate the other. Baltimore would get the nod.

Then Baltimore would go into a tiebreaker with Denver but the Ravens won head-to-head so they get the first wild-card spot.

Then Pittsburgh is back in and goes into a new tiebreaker with Denver and the Steelers won head-to-head.

Roethlisberger is only the 10th quarterback to pass for 500 yards in a game

I think it is somewhat surprising that with the evolution of the passing game and all the great quarterbacks who have come along -- Unitas, Fouts, Montana, Elway, Marino, Manning, Warner, etc. -- that Van Brocklin's mark has stood for nearly 60 years now.

I don't understand the hype on the Steelers making the playoffs. For that to happen, Baltimore would have to lose to Oakland or Denver has to lose to KC at home. It ain't gonna happen.

Pittsburgh trails everyone in conference records.

Turn out the lights....the party's over.

They don't need those two things to happen.

Denver would just have to lose at Philadelphia and Baltimore at Pittsburgh.

If all three finish 9-7, Baltimore and Pittsburgh are in and Denver is out because both beat Denver.
