Cleveland Cavs at Dallas Mavericks - Dec. 20th

Mr. 300
Simply trying to find at what level you competed at. Nothing past high school answered the question. The pro athletes and college players I'm around think differently, and you've proven to me why. Not a knock or slam at you personally, just trying to find out how and why you make some of your conclusions.devil1197 wrote: Competed in 3 sports in high school (football, basketball, and baseball). Pretty damn good success, atleast the trophy collection tells me so. Didn't play in college, had chances, but wanted to focus on my education and actually have a life after being involved in a sport basically everyday of my life for the previous 6 years. Also had to work to pay for my private university tuition so my parents wouldn't take the full burden. Any other questions that are irrelevant to the topic, maybe what I had for breakfast this morning or what I did last night??? I went to my girlfriends families Christmas party, had a pretty good time drank some beers and watched some football with the guys. All Bengals fans so I had a good day when the Browns won. I haven't ate breakfast yet, I'll check back.
Like I stated, prove to me that your logic has any merit in the Eastern Conference. It doesn't so you're new point is now what, trying to see what sports I played in.
If you hang your hat on the 1-3 theory, good for you. I'll hang mine on a 1 vs 8 anytime. -
devil1197Prove to me that your logic applies to the Eastern Conference.
A sub .500 team is no different than a sub .500 team be it 1 v. 8 or 2 v. 7 or 3 v. 6.
Ask your higher up buddies if they can point out differences with their immense experience and far superior knowledge. -
SQ_CraziesHAHAHA, you are a legit jackass. Not that I didn't already know.

Compared to you Jr, that is exactly what it is. Far superior and immense experience. -
SQ_CraziesFurther proving the point...

Still waiting for you to prove your logic. But yet all you can do is spout off about how you know higher up people and that they are always correct blah bliggity blah bullshit.Mr. 300 wrote:devil1197 wrote:

Prove your point or else its just some bullshit once again that you post.
How is a sub .500 team in the EC different from another sub .500 team that will be playing the Celtics, Cavs, or Magic.
I have no problem with you if you back up what you post but you continue to hide behind attacks trying to break me down lol. Are you serious, I may be younger than you but its clear that I threw something out that has damaged your logic.
Also, right now I wouldn't want Cleveland to be #1 and the Hawks #4. Out of any team in the East they scare me imo. Pretty athletic, young, and can get hot quickly. Cleveland has good matchups against the Magic who they are slated to play if the playoff ended today and both teams won their 1st round. -

I don't like agreeing with Mr. 300...but he is absolutely correct. Just because the Cavs didn't make it to the finals as the #1 seed last year, doesn't change the fact that #1 seeds have the best chance to win it all. Statistics don't lie.SQ_Crazies wrote: You're right. Most of them would agree on wanting to have the #1 spot. But I bet most of them would rather have the #3 and not peak during the push for #1 and peak during the NBA finals instead.
NBA home court is worth between 4 and 5 points. It's always been that way.
As for the Cavs this season, unfortunately they are who we think they are.
And I stand by my opinion. Shaq is over the hill and is killing this team...at both ends of the court. It doesn't help that Z is a year older either.
Cavs have a brutal 7 game stretch...in which we lost the opener. I look for a 2-5 record. I hope I'm dead wrong. -
Mr. 300Work day is finally done, and the Jr High Bball games are over, so I'm back on it.
Devil, you are such a hypocrite at times. You have gone off on people, name calling, and just plain little man syndrome rants at people that don't agree with you. Ah to be young and ignorant as yourself......
Here's a few reasons why a number one seed in the NBA playoffs should always be the goal of an elite team.
1) In a seeded format playoffs, the team that has to play the #1 seed is already a deflated team. They know the job ahead of them is monumental, and for the most part, they are ready to end their season and begin the resting. The #1 seed can jump out 2-0, and for the most part cruise from there to a 4-0 or 4-1 series win, plus having a chance to rest the guns if needed.
2) HC advantage throughout conference finals, with a shot at HC in the finals. Ask any team, and they'll take that every chance they can, period.
3) As the number one seed, by winning your first round match-up, you'll still have a relatively easy opponent in the second round. Again, refer back to #1.
4) Take a look at the 3rd seed in the NBA playoffs, and see how historically they've done since the league restructured the playoffs back in 1984. You'll be changing your tune just on this one alone. -
Mr. 300Oh yeah, now that I have proven my point, please refute each and every point made to the best of your ability, which we all know is very limited to name calling and tantrums.
Otherwise, STFU!!!!!!!!! -
devil1197
That doesn't mean shit in the EC at all, especially with the Cavs. Did it help them last year with HC advantage in the playoffs? Nope. The EC is very top heavy and the bottom teams are terrible.Mr. 300 wrote: Work day is finally done, and the Jr High Bball games are over, so I'm back on it.

The bottom teams in the EC playoffs will all be close to, if not under .500. Every team in the EC #1-#3 should either sweep or only lose one game. It will be the Celtics, Cavs, and Orlando against three equally terrible teams. The only team with possibly a rough matchup would be Atlanta against probably the Heat. Right now the EC has 4 very good basketball teams. Even if you are the #1 team you are going against a very tough Atlanta team. I don't care what you say, when you get down to the final 4 EC teams and they all have 20+ wins right now its not easy at all. Plus, if you win 1 game at the oppositions HC you automatically steal the advantage.
