Cleveland Cavs at Dallas Mavericks - Dec. 20th

  • devil1197
Why jpake? All you have to do is to get into the playoffs which they will.

There they can achieve their true goal. But the trade rumors have picked up finally in Cleveland and I wouldn't be surprised if Cleveland has a new starting 4 come Feb. JJ has progressed tremendously but the Cavs cannot trust him in late game situations and AV isn't a scorer outside of slashing and scoring off LeBron's assists.

    Why what?

Why do you say the all or nothing will not happen? Every team knows that the championship is the main goal. All Cleveland and the other teams have to do is make the playoffs, records go back to 0-0 and everyone has a shot.

As much time as the Cavs players spend on their dance moves and their pre game intro's I would say that their main goal is to be the best damn dance team in the land.

Oh wow great, original post Sky.

    Wouldn't expect anything different.

I said if it is indeed an all or nothing case for these guys, they'll be enjoying nothing because I don't see them winning it all.

Not real sure what you're getting at Devil.

It is laughable for anyone to say an NBA team could care less about the regular season, and will only be working in the playoffs. How stupid can you be???? The Cavs should be putting their collective hats on the regular season and a number seed. With Leboob and company, they've already proven to us that is all they can handle.

Loved those half court sets last night of Leboob dribbling.....dribbling.....dribbling, then clank a jumper. Fine job of running the O.

The Cavs should not be playing for a #1 seed. They can have a top 3 by winning their division which should be easy--and will be easy. No way they should try to push for a #1 again this year.
  • devil1197
Mr. douchebag 300, why push for the #1 seed?

Just get to the playoffs. No one remembers Divison or Conference champions. There is only one goal in all of sports for competitive teams and that is the NBA Finals trophy.

If you have to ask this dumb of a question, then you need to step away from mommy's computer Jr. You're still wet behind the ears little boy, go dry yourself off.

Because of HC? It didn't help Cleveland last season and there is no need to push for it this year. Cleveland will be able to coast into the playoffs after winning their division. Records restart once the playoffs begin and thats all that matters.

Go change your depends old man.
  • SQ_Crazies
You can't answer the question...so who is dumb?

They shouldn't make a push for homecourt--they're good enough that they're going to finish with a good record and win the division--meaning they'll have a top 3 playoff spot. Making a big push for the #1 did nothing but hurt them last year. Half the team was burnt out by the ECF.

Just more snot running from your premature little nose. Every level I've coached and played at in a team sport, has been play to win the #1 seed. The path of least resistance comes to those that achieve the top of the pile. Especially in team sports, that #1 seed is so valuable. Your stars can rest in early rounds as you'll be playing a team who just "got in", and now relax a little, and lose the eye on the prize.

In an individual sport, yeah just sneaking in to match play is all you need, but that's totally different from a team mentality. Can a low seed win?? Sure?? I've made planty of $$$$ as a low seed, but I want the top dog spot, and I'll bet most athletes would agree.

Mommy called, time for your nap little man.
  • SQ_Crazies
You're right. Most of them would agree on wanting to have the #1 spot. But I bet most of them would rather have the #3 and not peak during the push for #1 and peak during the NBA finals instead.

Good teams don't peak until THE time to do it. But of course, most of that comes from the coaching staff.
  • SQ_Crazies
Well the Cavs were a good team and they peaked too early. You can't control when you peak other than trying not to do it early.

I think differently. You can control when you peak, and it comes during the season, during practice, and during the course of the playoffs. It's a mindset, and the coaching staff must instill this in any team. A team that peaks too early did not have their priorities in line, which is crucial.

In the Eastern Conference you are going to play a shitty team if you are 1-3 seeds period. Nothing will change that over the season. There are 4 teams with good records, Miami with 13-12, and then the rest suck.

So you are telling me there is a difference in playing MIL, NY, TOR, CHA, DET etc?? Come back to me when your logic will work with the Eastern Conference because it doesn't. You can be 1-3 and you have a great chance right now of playing a sub .500 team and there is no difference in those type of teams.
  • SQ_Crazies
Wrong. You can't control when you peak, you can only try to stop it from happening too early--and that might bite you in the ass because then you may not peak at the right time. But they tried to go balls to the wall last year and it bit them in the ass--some guys (Mo being the best example) shit a brick in the ECF because you could tell they just didn't have it. Peaked too early--he was in offseason mode, he'd never been that far before.

Don't get you giranimals all in a bunch little man, but I'm going to ask you a question. What sport(s) have you competed in, and at what level?? What level of success did you have???

Don't answer that devil--this has nothing to do with anything and it's easy for ANYONE to get on here and ask this question while totally fabricating anything about themselves the entire time.

So, you're saying never being that far before would not have the adrenilin pumping???

I guess we just agree to disagree.

Competed in 3 sports in high school (football, basketball, and baseball). Pretty damn good success, atleast the trophy collection tells me so. Didn't play in college, had chances, but wanted to focus on my education and actually have a life after being involved in a sport basically everyday of my life for the previous 6 years. Also had to work to pay for my private university tuition so my parents wouldn't take the full burden. Any other questions that are irrelevant to the topic, maybe what I had for breakfast this morning or what I did last night??? I went to my girlfriends families Christmas party, had a pretty good time drank some beers and watched some football with the guys. All Bengals fans so I had a good day when the Browns won. I haven't ate breakfast yet, I'll check back.

Like I stated, prove to me that your logic has any merit in the Eastern Conference. It doesn't so you're new point is now what, trying to see what sports I played in.
