Fire Marvin Lewis

There is no excuse for this team to be under performing w/ all this talent. Also Jay Gruden's offense goes dormant for 2 quarters every game, Absolutely no excuse for these back 2 back loses

Been saying it since last year. This team is not as good as you all thought they were last year. Pretty overrated. They had 5 weeks in a row vs rookie QBs (one 2nd year qb) and they only have 3 wins to show for it. Would've only been 2 wins if Haden plays in week 2.

    Like that well said dude.

Marvin Lewis, Post-Game: "We're not playing nasty, We're almost too nice."

That falls on the coaching staff plain & simple
  • justincredible
Not a Bengals fan but I'd like Lewis fired for no other reason than that he is absolutely brutal to listen to on WLW when giving pre and/or post game comments. I'm really surprised I haven't fallen asleep while driving listening to him talk.

I mentioned this earlier that I considered Lewis to be sub par and if he were with any other owner (IE not the cheapskate that Brown is) he would have been fired a long time ago.
  • sportchampps
He would be fired but no way is brown paying 2 coaches at once.

I think the bengals have some great pieces in place, but that schedule last year hid a lot of what they really are. They beat the bad teams and lose to the good teams. Right now, they are a middle of the pack team talentwise, but they have some great building blocks.

Pains me to say it, but I think it is playoffs or bust. If Lewis doesn't get it done, I think it is time to cut bait. The team had a good year last year and we can't have the 'fall back to earth' year that seems to keep happening.

When Mikey inevitably makes the move, he needs to hire a GM (Raiders and Cowboys fans nod their heads)

lol, wish I GAF enough to find the quote of you saying he's a top coach in the league.

C'mon man...the old you used to have plenty of GAF to pwn....you're becoming complacent.

He is a good coach as evidenced by the fact he has won plenty of games in Cincy and then he also helped construct one of the best defenses of all time. Sometimes though teams need a new voice

That doesn't mean shit. Plenty of good coordinators who aren't good head coaches.

He's been in the league about 10 years, under. 500 win percentage, and 0-3 in the playoffs. You seriously call that a good coach??? C'mon man.

I don't you think you can argue he is a bad head coach either though. Winning with Mike Brown calling the shots means something. Nobody else can really say that they have

See my previous post. Not good by league standards, but from a Bengals perspective he has been good. There's always the fear of the unknown. We don't want to have another Bruce Coslet!

Lewis and the current crew also do a pretty good job of evaluating talent and developing it. The in-game stuff is where he struggles from time to time. I know I scratched my head with his decision to not go for two last week. Came back to bite us. That loss was on him and the coaching staff

Marvin Lewis is an average coach. Unfortunately, he's good enough to not get fired, especially considering it would cost money to fire him.

If you want Marvin fired, root for a complete collapse, maybe from here through the end of 2013. Other than that, the Bengals are still an 8-8, 9-7, fringe playoff team. Good enough to appease Mikey and Marvin will hang around forever...

We got shoved around plain and simple. Browns beat us up. We need a running back and a proven 2nd year guy. I was hoping for 9 wins....thinking 6-7 now. This Pitt game will show me a lot. 4-3 is a ton better than 3-4.
Rookie QB or not, Weeden and Tannehill are going to be legit qb's in this league and played well both games.
  • Azubuike24
Weeden is 5 years OLDER than Andy Dalton.

I'm not sold on him ever being more than decent.

not necessarily a big Marvin Lewis fan, but as a Browns fan we'll trade you coaches straight up any time you want to make the trade! Be careful what you wish for---you could end up with a Shurmur!

Exactly what I was getting at

The guy has been around enough, so you know what you've got....and it's not that impressive. Not getting at least a FG just before the half yesterday(time runs out)...was pretty Mangini-esque.

In Cincy, they may get a favorable second left.

Otherwise, I agree. You can't let the clock run out. You would rather try a 60-yard FG than not get ANY FG off...

BUMP.... SICK & TIRED of Marvin acting like a little bitch
