Jesus gotta give your receivers a chance to the ball.
  • Tiger2003
What a horrible throw by Weeden gotta give them a chance.
  • ts1227
Weeden looked good on that drive until there, with another massive overthrow. He has to cut those out
  • ricola
    weeden 25/52 for 320 yards

some inconsistency, a pick, etc but honestly what are the odds of Colt ever having those numbers. and that doesnt count the drops (which of course colt had to put up with all last year as well.
  • OQB
And Shurmur still winless in the AFC north.
  • Crimson streak
Weeden looked like a solid qb if it wasn't for the int and that last throw.

My only conclusion after tonight is it is time for Shurmur to go.

He is holding this team back, and we are headed for nothing but continued misery as long as he's around.
  • ricola
agree--plenty of bad passes. but at least something to work with. we need a coach and receivers
  • zach24oz
Little dropped a big TD pass which could have made a difference...but if Weeden doesnt throw that pick 6 it's 16-13 BAL and they still had a better chance to win.
  • OQB
Also why are we not giving Richardson the ball...only 14 carries tonight.

I think our receivers have good talent we need a damn receivers coach. We need a guy who can develop these guy

Also....this offense HAS to find a way to score points in the 1st quarter....SHURMUR THAT MEANS YOUR TEAM CAN'T COME OUT FLAT!!!

We need an established vet that takes some of the pressure off the rookies/2nd year guys at receiver to have to be all of the passing offense.

They have no room for a learning curve because they are all we have. It is just not a realistic way to run a team.

Ravens brought pressure all night, Weeden completed under 50%. That's still a huge issue.

There was a lot of open space/RAC yardage tonight when passes were caught because of how many guys Baltimore was rushing. Either receivers need to beat single coverage or QB needs to make quicker reads and decisions.

Agreed like a joe j type of guy

If the receivers catch half of the balls they blatantly dropped he would be at a much more normal %. He had some bad throws (the last one was inexcusable) but he threw a ton of balls that were on the money and out right dropped.

Browns receivers still had quite a few drops that changed the game...Little, Norwood and Benjamin dropped what would have been a tough catch, but have to make them if you want to win. D played the best they could I thought...makes things even more frustrating when their 2/3 (Haden and Taylor) best defenders arent on the field and they played tough against BAL.

Agreed. It "looked" like Weeden had a pretty solid game..but looking at stats he is under 50%. I thought he looked good on the last drive. Looked bad on the pick 6 and last play of the game. In between, I would have to go with average.

agree...but it's his 4th game as a professional. he def needs better touch, quicker reads, etc. I think much of that will come. at least has the potential --and arm strength to make those throws.

Exactly, in 2007 (the only year we had a real NFL offense since we came back) Joe J was the vet that took some of the pressure off of Edwards and Winslow to have to do everything.

He caught 50 balls for 600+ yards and was a 3rd down conversion machine with reliable hands.

This team beyond desperately needs that type of player.

Sadly it is impossible for us to acquire such a player because they aren't found in the draft and they are older than 25.
