I'll bet Ozzie Newsome delivers his eulogy

It's not that I have anything in particular against the Browns, simply all of the NE (greater Cleveland/Akron area) sucks.
    You're fooling nobody.

    'k.

Modell screwed up by not joining the Gateway stadium block (or whatever it's called) with the Indians and the Cavs.
Of the above mentioned three teams, what sport does city value most?

I blame the voters who allowed the team to leave. They were content with the city keeping the "Browns" name and allowed Modell to move his business.
It's not a matter of opinion. You simply don't know what the fuck you are talking about, and it is pretty damn obvious. That + your history on browns related threads/posts= trying too hard to troll.

Also, if you are going to go with "k," you are supposed to simply stick with "k" and stfu. You can't even be passive agressive properly smh.

Are they really going to do a moment of silence in Cleveland? That sounds like a nightmare.

I might have to make sure I'm in front of my TV for this.

I tailgated with a Browns fan buddy in the Muni for the last pre-season game. Almost wish I'd be there this week just for the epic lulz this "moment of silence" would provide!

There should be no moment of silence in Cleveland Sunday. Moments of silence are reserved for special people or after unexpected sad events. Modell fits neither criteria. Did they have a moment iof silence in Baltimore when the other POS owner, Robert Irsay died? Fuck no they didn't.

They should hang him in effigy on the 50 yard line instead. Closure is a wonderful thing.

I hope they boo the entire moment of silence.

I fully expect that to happen.

Your comment captures how I feel about it, too, Hits.

Just stirring the pot and being a dumb ass. Also relating to conversations from yappi.

I went to college in Canton for a year before realizing how stupid of choice Malone was for me.
A bunch of religious wacko's and the college officials taking attendance at church frightened me.

I just have never liked the vibe of NE Ohio.

Like said I wanted to cheer for the Browns but they went with Weeden instead of my homer pick of RGiii. I'm still mad at them and believe they made the wrong choice. That said, I'm tied for last with 609 in the college football pick 'em and lost all my vCash after the first and only NFL game so far this season.

Just to add something for the Browns fans that maybe some will agree? I think Colt should be starting and don't believe Weeden is quite ready. Maybe he will be in a few weeks but not right now.

I hope everyone who goes to the "factory of sadness" has a great time this season.

Is this moment of silence thing official? It's a very bad idea to do something like that in Cleveland, IMO.

I saw on ESPN OTL earlier that Cleveland currently does not have any plans to honor Modell on Sunday so it must not be official.

Scumbag POS Model got rid of Paul Brown, Pushed Jim Brown to retire, fucked the Indians for decades, and ran away in the middle of the night like a fucking rat. Fuck him and his "moment of silence" BS. May he forever tongue Satan's asshole.

he fired paul brown, the greatest football coach ohio has ever produced.

@AdamSchefter: NFL is asking each home team this weekend to observe a moment of silence or other appropriate gesture in memory of Art Modell.

If they are truly "asking" does that mean that Cleveland does not have to honor their request? Just saw on the Browns thread that they will recognize Modell in some way on Sunday.

Thank God for Sunday Ticket. That should be good.

Yep. A guy's walking out to the 50, taking a dump, flipping off the crowd and then leaving.

    That would be great!

Cleveland should maybe have PA guy direct everyone's attention to the big screen and give a moment of silence for.....and show Modell's pic for about 1/3 of a second and then drown it out with blaring kickoff music.

Or maybe announce that if not too many boo that everyone gets 2 free beers or something.

As I said on the Browns thread, I wonder if Goodell is going to mandate that Lebron James sing the National Anthem too? :(
