While I don't think that this year's team is as good as 92 (although this would be different with Dwight and a couple of the other injured players), the competition is on such a higher level today. I heard SVP say that France had more Olympians on their team alone than the combination of all the teams the Dream Team played in 92.

That would be wrong considering of they were playing in the olympics they would be Olympians ;)

Pretty funny/cool seeing Doc Rivers get excited and discuss women's soccer.

That is correct. Spain falls to 3-2 and will finish, I think, 3rd in Group B.

Joke of a foul call there.

Lol, maybe total...as in you total all their margins and divide them. But the Dream Teams closest game was what? 32 against Croatia? This team obviosuly has had many closer games. This one will probably be close as well.

The game has changed, and international game is much better. But not this much better. These guys dont play hard and dont play defense. It isnt gonna matter in the end, but the Dream Team took it upon themselves to shut down the opposition.

Durant is sick. USA picked up the D to start the second half, big lead now. Maybe they read my post :D

Argentina has some bitchass players...led by Scola. One of them punched Melo in the nuts after he drains a 3 to end the 3rd. Fuck was that shit?
  • gorocks99
Stomach? I think he got it in the gonads.
  • ptown_trojans_1
That run in the 3rd was just epic. Wow.

This team can't compare to 1992. 92 was made up of hall of famers. ALL of them. Ewing and Robinson wouldve owned the paint.

Christian Laettner is not a HOF'er

Did you see what was going on during the France/Spain game? Goonin' it up all over the place.

US/Argentina about to tip for the right to play Spain in the gold medal match

LeBron really made the difference during the 3rd quarter. It was somewhat close a couple minutes into the 3rd (hovering around 5 or so) ten LeBron had some offensive boards, assists and a dunk and few other baskets.

This is a good butt kicking. I had doubts coming into this one but it looks like they're back in form after the dip against Lithuania.
  • Automatik
Where's Rob been? Saying the US would struggle against teams with NBA players. Good call!

They were sleepwalking against Lithuania and steamrolled everyone else.

I truly believe after watching these games that this team would give the '92 team a serious competition. I mean these guys can shoot better than any team ever. And Lebron is seriously starting to make me think he's gonna be possibly the greatest player ever. I mean he's an MJ+Magic combo that is ridiculous and Durant could take Bird. These guys are fun to watch

If he is not. Then it's only a matter of time. He is most definitely a hall of famer.

...he averaged like 11 PPG for his career?
  • georgemc80
It was my understanding that it was a combination of his college and pro career. His time in college alone makes him worthy of the hall of fame.
  • Ironman92
Yeah....I thought basketball was an overall with college, overseas and others.
  • Laley23
Laettner has to be in the HOF, right?

NBA doesnt have one, and he is EASILY a basketball HOFer.

This team would give the original Dream Team their best challenge but would still lose 9 out of 10 games against them.
Giving this dream team one win out of 10 is being optimistic.
