    81 wins? you're dreaming

The time for making a deal that would have improved this team is pretty well over. It is probably more likely that we will be sellers rather than buyers at this point. The Tiger's series will make or break this.

The Indians could entertain moving Perez for two reasons – they are deep in
    relievers

If the Indians dont win today and sweep the Tigers, they are done. If they do that, Ill be hoodwinked into caring for another week.
  • HitsRus
They need to win today and split with the Tigers. Then....they need a RH bat.

I could def see the Indians moving those two guys if they fall back a little further. Choo is a client of Boras....nothing else needs to be said. Perez has super high value now and we wouldn't lose a step next year with Vinnie being the man.

losing Choo would mean Shelly Duncan is now the most powerful hitter on the team

But it was a week or 2 ago that they published their annual "we're buyers" propaganda and as usual they're doing the exact opposite and dumping salary if anyone will bite. If being a buyer is signing Romero, Dolan can fuck off if they trade either one

    Lol markakis is an idiot

    Well, well, well.

Ball game! Good win for the tribe, we needed it big time.

With any kind of offense, we win 3 games this weekend.....and still the front office sits on its hands. Not even a Matt LaPorta callup to try to bolster the pathetic left field situation.

Meanwhile, the TIGERS have completed a somewhat bold trade to address its team weaknesses. Chicago has made moves. It's easy to see who's interested in winning, and who is just blowing smoke up their fans asses.

Infante is a good pickup for the Tigers. Batting .295 over the last 5 years, is slugging a career high .442, is on pace for 60ish RBIs, and played in Detroit until 2007, so he's already familiar with a lot of the clubhouse guys.

This is the Tigers division to lose. It has been all year. They have way more talent than Chicagoor Cleveland. They get Martinez back in August sometime.

LaPorta is hitting like .180 in Columbus this month. Why would he get a call up?

I agree, Alma--I think they win the division by 10 games

Sadly Cabrera is batting .195 and Hafner is at .182.....

Seems like everyone else is making moves and the Tribe is standing pat. I really think that if Detroit sweeps us Alomar will be managing this team at the end of the week.

Still need a RH bat in this lineup. I can't believe we don't even hear rumors.

I've said all along....a move shouldn't be made for this year but rather if a move makes sense in improving this team for the next 2-3 then they should act. This is not the year to sell out and go for it. That's just silly. It would take more than a starting pitcher and a RH stick to make this team a true threat. It's a .500 team. .500 teams don't make deep runs in the playoffs.
