Baltimore orioles vs cleveland Indians series thread

  • Crimson streak
We need to win this series as Detroit and the fuck sox hopefully beat each other up and we might be able to steal a game or 2 in the standings.

I did hear on the radio the other day that we have the easiest schedule in baseball the rest of the year. So at least we have that going for us.

No, Pittsburgh does. Reds in second. I saw this on ESPN.

Yeah, I think it may have been just in the division.

I figured I would start it. We need to save your mojo for an important series down the road if there is one ;)

    In the American League.

Headin' up to Rockin' blast tomorrow!....go Tribe.

    Jim Thome returns again.

These next 7 games determine the rest of our season. We keep winning I see them swinging a trade for a bat, they don't have a choice. if we suck ass the next 7 games, well I think we are stuck with this roster the rest of the year.

Im starting to get pissed they wont bring laporta up, there is no way he can be worse than damon and cunningham
  • HitsRus
^^^^I've been pissed for a month and a half about that. We've got to find out if LaPorta is more than a AAAA player. The guy has been working on his game and is hitting well in Columbus. Last year he hit .247 with 11 HRs in 107 games with the Tribe...an ops of .711 and OBP of .300.

.247.....do we have anyone in LF hitting .247? He is no worse than Duncan...and a hell of a lot better than the weak armed Damon. LaPorta should have been up the last month and a half so we could evaluate whether or not we should spend on a hitter or a pitcher. Moreover, Kotchman is under contract for only this year with no options, Don't you think you want to test LaPorta so you can find out if you need to go out and get a 1B next year? IF (and I concede it is a big IF) LaPorta actually can hit big league pitching, it solves a lot of problems in the organization. They need to test this...and considering what we are trotting out in LF everyday...there is NOTHING to lose.

Word is that Tribe deep thinkers say he can't hit a major league curve ball....and they might be right. But none of our LF's are hitting anything anyway. WTF? Word is that he is at least 2 injuries away from a callup. SMFH.

Better do it before or after the game. Unless you are in Obama's 1%, you can't afford to get buzzed ...let alone kill yourself on alcohol purchased at the Prog.

    My batting order would be....

    Against righties.

    Choo
    Brantlley
    Kipness
    Hafner
    Cabrera
    and then don't care

    against lefties

    Put Lopez in for Hafner.

Brantley needs to get more at bats.

The thing is Brantley struggled up in the lead off spot. I actually like him at 4. As much as everyone wants to believe the 4 hitter doesn't have to be a power guy. You want your best RBI guys in the 3&4 spots. Brantley and kipnis are our best risp hitters so I actually like them in those spots. This is what I would like to see happen

    Choo
    A cab
    Kipnis
    Brantley
    Hafner
    Damon
    Santana
    Kotchman
    Hanahan

    Against leftys

    Choo
    A cab
    Kipnis
    Brantley
    Lopez
    Marson
    Santana
    Duncan
    Hanahan

I've also heard some grumblings about this possibly being actas last chance. They don't want to lose sandy alomar to another team and want him to be the manager. We shall see though

I think it would definitely help with fan support also. Having a Cleveland legend be the manager. I hope it happens honestly
  • Laley23
That would be awesome. Im of a major belief that Catchers make the best managers.
  • vball10set
Can't run anymore, can't field, can't throw, can't hit--please tell me again why Damon is in left field, and why LaPorta is still in Cbus?

    I also concur.

Lowe seems to be laboring from the get-go.

Offense showed some life in the B1 though, probably gonna need it tonight. Santana has been walking more often (like early in the year) and Asdrubal has come around the last 3 games.
  • BRF
    Whew! Dodged a bullet there!
