Yes indeed. He has pitched well as of late. I'd still much prefer to have White...and especially raw rookie Drew Pomeranz...and his sparkling ERA of 3.06.

Hi, guys...I'm back from vacation....following the Tribe from afar...well, Florida.

good to see the team hanging with the ChiSox who have won 9 of 11...and keeping the hot Tigers at bay...could be worse.

Let it go Wedge...we got Ubaldo and he's picking it up. Frankly, I think his troubles were mainly mental...being too tentative coming off his injury. He's been bringing some heat now...and that has been the difference.

Agree 100% were finally getting the ubaldo we traded for.

Santana's at bat and Marson's at bat should no longer be considered anomalies. As I see it, Marson's the starter and Santana is the mop up guy.

That's the only way Santana is going to understand this. If he doesn't like it...then do something about it....like listening to the coaches.

I wouldn't mind Marson behind the plate and Santana at first.

Still would love to see us pick up another starting pitcher. Has anyone heard if Perez is coming back anytime soon? would like to see him healthy and back to last years form for the second half..........Go Tribe!!

Sheldon Ocker reported in the Akron Beacon Journal today that Rafe Perez return is unknown as he still suffers from a 'mysterious' arm injury. Our best hope in the bullpen in that Acta can find another dependable guy out there... either a Tony Sipp return to form (he has shown some improvement lately), or Esmil Rogers ( who has reduced the tendency to walk batters) which plagued him in Colorado. Nick Hagadone has been banished to Columbus after Friday nite's debacle. Scott Barnes cannot be recalled for a few more days due to MLB rule, so the Tribe will play short a player on the roster.

The power shortage in LF and 1B continues to weigh down the offense. Despite that, Matt LaPorta is at least "2 injuries away" from a callup, despite hitting 17 HRs in Columbus. LaPorta has apparently become "personna non grata" with Tribe operatives who feel he can't hit a breaking pitch (reported by Ocker).

The Clippers placed reliever Nick Hagadone on the disqualified list today after he fractured his hand. No details yet on whether it is his left/pitching hand or his right. The Cleveland Indians optioned Hagadone to the Clippers yesterday.

Columbus manager Mike Sarbaugh declined to comment on the injury or its procedural aftermath. This makes it sound like it was self-inflicted. But in any case, it doesn't sound like Hagadone will surface in Columbus anytime soon. A player on the disqualified list is considered in violation of his contract and does not collect service time or money.

HA, just heard about his "injury". I cant wait to hear what happened.

    ^^^:huh::(:mad:

Hagadone would've been a big help down the stretch once he got his mechanics straightened out. They need a trade now, though. Can't count on Sipp/Perez.
  • DeadliestWarrior34
Crotchman is actually showing some signs of life lately.
  • DeadliestWarrior34
I'm calling it now, Johnny Damon is going to hit for the cycle today.

defense lets mcallister down for the second straight start. rays back in the game, down 5-4.
  • Wooball
Asdrubal's defensive lapses are really starting to become irritating. Does he just lose focus for periods of time? Is he tired? Because he makes them in bunches. Only 1 error this inning, but probably should have made the play against Pena as well. Can't give teams 2 extra outs in an inning. Hopefully they can hold on to this one.

wtf does Asdrubal have against McAllister? He committed a costly error in the last game he pitched, and has coughed up two more today (to this point)--what the fuck is going on with this alleged "all-star"???

Ok, but I only sit in the all you can eat club seats...

Nice at bat Travis. Nothing like having the other team pitch around people to get to you. When's your contract over?
  • Footwedge
Great job by Smitty. If the bullpen holds this, then Acts is left off the hook. No way should you leave McCallister in after that 4 pitch walk. Earned or unearned runs, it was time...especially given the heat factor.
  • HitsRus
wow...gutsy (or stupid) move pulling Smith and bringing in Sipp to pitch to Pena.....and Sipp gets him out swinging on a 3-2 pitch.

    frickin genius.

He has the fifth most errors among shortstops now. Today's put him at 10. Only Starlin Castro, Ian Desmond, Brandon Crawford and Dee Gordon have more. Costly.

According to Elias, though, he has the 2nd most DPs and highest range factor, whatever that means. Kipnis is 3rd in fielding percentage for 2Bs and 9th in range.
