Both teams should've been warned or whatever with about 4 minutes left in the game......any borderline fans will quit watching the NBA with that crap going on.

lol on the Kobe steal with about 3:30 left he got the ball about 15 feet from half court....and didn't dribble the ball until about 5 feet on the other side of half court..I replayed it and he took a 4th step before the ball hit the court...lol
He moved 70 feet in two dribbles lol
Haha yeah that was definitely a travel at the start, but it was against Jiri Welsch, and he deserved anything he had coming his way. Damn what an awful basketball player.

As for the game today, can't really ask for anything more from the Cavs. Did what they had to do at both ends of the floor. Mo continues to thrive in the big games this year. It's been pretty simple this year with him, the only game the Cavs won where he didn't play that great was the win at home against Phoenix at the beginning of the month and even then he had some big shots to put it away in the 4th quarter. LeBron's obviously the key to this team but the Cavs will HAVE to continue to see the production out of him come crunch time for this team to have success.

The bench continues to completely go above the standards I had set for them. People are acting surprised by Moon's performance today but he's came up with some big shots already in the 4th this season, just not to the extent he did tonight. Andy's been working his mojo on getting in opposing player's heads beautifuly these last few weeks, as I know he was able to do it with Amare earlier in the week, and it was absolutely huge with Odom today, someone that was probably the biggest crux to the Cavs last season. The bench has been playing so well that we haven't even had to have Gibson play AT ALL. I would like to see him implemented a little bit more but it hasn't really been necessary during this road trip. Definitely didn't need him today with the size the Lakers bring to the table.

Overall, it's not a crowning moment for the Cavs, far from it as in the long run this win won't really mean anything unless the Cavs get in a tight run for homecourt advantage throughout the playoffs. But J.A. Adande stated it well in his piece on the game, this is the measuring stick as to how well the Cavs can play. They're not always going to play that well, but it's good to know just how well you can play. It's a good thing to know for down the road.

Love watching Lebron and Kobe, but they travel all the time. Kobe had a baseline move yesterday where he established about 4 pivot feet...haha. The superstars have always gotten away with traveling and they always will.

The Cavs are moving up a bit on my power rankings. I couldn't believe in this team last year because they were honestly shit against the top teams in the NBA. This year they're beating them. I get the sense they've been the more focused team; while they others (Orlando/LA) didn't make it as big of a deal. No disrespect to the Cavs, they definitely took it to both teams. I think after two big wins against contenders, the rest of the great teams have now realized that the Cavs are for real. The mindset seems to be evolving. Last year, I got a sense of them hoping to do great things. This year, they seem to be expecting great things. After yesterday's game, I very much want to see an LA/CLE finals. And God Bless the refs if they'd let it be a very physical finals.

If you base rankings off teams doing great against top notch teams, where do you have the Lakers this season?

Going into last night there were only 7 teams with 9 or less losses in the NBA including LA. The Lakers have played four of them going 1-3 with the only win being against Atlanta.

BTW, anyone else catch Williams calling Kobe a pussy for his multiple cheap shots last night lol. It was when Odom got the boot.

And why didn't Kobe shake hands with LeBron and the Cavs after the game?
  • burt07
I'm not quite getting this whole "the Lakers didn't really care, it wasn't a big deal" argument. If it wasn't a big deal to them, why were they bitching so much about the refs and taking the cheap shots late in the game?

I had been impressed with LA for most of the season. But Boston has been impressing me a lot lately. I'm not sure who I'd take in a series, but I'm beginning to think Boston has the toughness it takes to beat the Lakers. That is the one thing I've thought about LA-- incredibly talented, but I don't see that "rough around the edges" type of attitude. Cleveland got tough with them last night and bruised their body and egos a bit. That's what it takes to beat the Lakers. Answer your questions Devil?

Burt- It justs seems like Cleveland put more effort and focus into winning the big games this year than their oppenents. They simply seemed more motivated. Just an observation and opinion. Just like watching Cleveland plays Memphis compared to LA or Orlando. There is definitely a different focus and motivation level. Probably because it means more to them and they get up more for that match-up. Don't get me wrong, the Lakers cared about the game, but not at much as Cleveland. It's a compliment to their effort, not an excuse or argument. Never understand why fans get so chippy with comments like that. Not saying you're getting chippy either. Just saying in general. You're just questioning it, others get pissed about it.

I agree jpake1, and it gets on my nerves about Cleveland. Why can't they play focused like they did yesterday more often? I mean I know it's a long season and no team will be completely focused every game. It just seems like sometimes they just try to coast and it gets them in trouble. I'm just being critical though, I can't complain too much about a 23-8 team with wins over Orlando and LA on the road.

Yeah I'll get down with the viewpoint that the Cavs cared more in comparison to their other games. Yes, definitely. If you compare the way they came out yesterday to something like their Dallas game to start the road trip, then yes, they were definitely more motivated. (They looked so dead in that Dallas game it was ridiculous) I think the reasoning to that is that that's the way they've looked at this season. Last season they came out every game as if it was the Finals, and it definitely helped them in the regular season as few teams are able to keep up that sort of intensity. However, it caught up to them eventually, as it didn't affect someone like LeBron but the taxing of working that hard every game got to guys like Mo and Delonte. This season, they realize that their talent alone is going to get them by in some games, while they definitely will have to up the intensity with games like LA and Orlando. Part of that is because of last season, part of it has to do with the personnel they have now, like Shaq. The jury is still out as to if it will be a success come playoff time, we shall see.

As for the Cavs caring MORE than the Lakers, I still don't know if I buy that. I don't think it was so much the Cavs caring more than the Lakers, I think it was just the simple fact that they played better. It might seem that the Cavs care more because yes they did up their intensity in comparison to other games but I would think the Lakers are doing the same with a marquee matchup. All around you raise good points and see where you're coming from.

The Lakers were 0-2 vs the Magic last year in the regular season. How did that work out in the Finals, I forget?

^It's an observation. And what does last year have to do with this year? Riddle me that, d-bag.

Sunday's game enabled the Cavs to overcome a psychological barrier. It doesn't change the fact that, like last year, about 4 or 5 teams have the ability to win it all. It just comes down to who plays best in the playoffs.

I also don't buy into the matchup crap. The Cavs were quite capable of beating LA in the finals. They didn't get there because the Magic won 2 nail biters vs. the Cavs 1.

I also think that Orlando popped their wad in beating the Celts and Cavs w/out home court advantage.

They had nothing left for LA.
