Christmas Day.....Cavs vs Lakers

He was killin' us in the 1st half on the defensive end! Every time he'd come in they'd start making a run. I'll take that plate of crow with a smile on my face--I'm glad he proved me wrong!devil1197 wrote:
Good call lol. Just playing.SQ_Crazies wrote: If Moon plays more than 10 minutes in the 2nd half the Cavs will lose this game. He's played 11 right now. -
JakeGiantCongrats to the Cavs on their W.
-
wes_mantoothYeah, Moon was huge......gotta love that shit shot 3 that was the final dagger.
-
Hb31187MAN the lakers really have no guards aside from Kobe and Shannon Brown has his flashes here and there.
-
devil1197Great road stretch for Cleveland going 3-1 against 4 decent to great teams including 3 playoff teams. Ended two 10+ home game winning streaks and the role players stepped it up huge. Mo Williams was excellent this road trip, I just pray to god he shows it in the playoffs.
-
Cleveland BuckKobe's teammates did show up. They just never had a shot without a Cavalier in their face. Neither did Kobe. He scored his points on like 35 shots or whatever it was.
This is the defense they need to play in the playoffs. It was a nice win, but the regular season means nothing for this team. They have to do this in the playoffs.
This is why we can't trade Shaq. Even if he sucks against all of the bottomfeeders, we need his size against the Lakers front line and Dwight Howard. -
devil1197Yep, just another case of why Shaq is important against the playoff teams. People get their panties in a bunch when he plays like crap against a Chicago or Milwaukee, but he wasn't brought in for them. I'll take his 11 and 7 along with solid defense and getting the Cavs onto the FT line quicker in the quarters.

The only reason the actual game could be is because LeBron can keep any team in any game on certain days. I'm hoping he has one against the Lakers--it'd be a nice Christmas present.
In one post you say the Lakers have the way better bench then in another you say the Lakers bench has been terrible all year so which is it?SQ_Crazies wrote:
Kobe is 10/30...he hasn't played great today either. But the bench is no excuse--the Laker bench has been awful all season and the Cavs bench has been solid. You saw that coming before they ever tipped. The Cavs just outplayed the Lakers today, it wasn't close--bottom line.JakeGiant wrote: Again, I think the officiating part is so little in Kobe's frustration. The guy performs at a high level, and gets ticked when his teammates don't carry that same enthusiasm. I'm very disappointed in the supporting cast, i.e. the bench in which Cavs bench has totally creamed L.A.'s.
Great win for the Cavs. Still just one regular season game, time to move on and build on what they did today on the homecourt of the best team in the league. This was the best they've played as a team all season on both ends of the floor. -
SQ_CraziesYep. Shaq showed again what happens when he's motivated and when he's playing in the kind of game he was brought in to help us out in. That's the attitude he'll bring to the playoffs. Like devil said, he doesn't give a shit about games against Chicago, etc. Why should he? I just don't understand people saying he's a bust already--the organization made it clear why they brought him in.

They haven't played well most of the year (they haven't had to in most games), but when you compare the whole rosters for both teams the Lakers have the clear edge.2quik4u wrote:SQ_Crazies wrote: Starting 5 doesn't mean shit. 2quik4uGood game by the Cav's, whoever said Mo Williams had to have a big game somewhere in this thread was correct, good call by you.
I can't wait until Sasha is gone, he is fucking terrible.
When Moon is hitting contested three pointers you know you are in trouble.
Bynum got his ass whooped by Shaq tonight
I never thought I say this but Luke is a lot more important to the team then I thought. -

No, they didn't. Simply put.Cleveland Buck wrote: Kobe's teammates did show up.

Very true statement. I've always thought he was pretty important though--he brings a lot to the table for the Lakers. He is their version of Varejao, those kinds of players are very important.2quik4u wrote: I never thought I say this but Luke is a lot more important to the team then I thought. -
KnightRyderno they showed up , they just got out played

2quik, that was me who stated Mo needs a big game. Everytime he comes up big Cleveland will win. He has hit 20+ 3 games in a row for 3 wins, he scored 8 against Dallas in a loss.devil1197 wrote: Why does Howard look pissed? That is pretty cool.
Only way Cleveland wins tomorrow is if the other guys step up like they have been the last two games.
-Mo had 27 and Z with 25 last night
-Mo had 24 and 3 others had 10+ against PHO.
Mo needs to pull out a 20+ game once again for Cleveland to win. Whether we agree or not, Mo is LeBron's #2 he will need to continue to play like it.
BTW, classy fans by LA tonight. -
SQ_Crazies
I saw them on the floor--they showed up. Just give the Cavs credit for great defense. It was the best game they played all year as a team, on both ends of the court. Bad day for the Lakers--key word being day, it's just one game. The Cavs just wanted it more today--their help defense was awesome all game.JakeGiant wrote:

FootwedgeShaq stepped up and played very well tonight. As did the whole team. Other than Z being a tad off on his set shot, everyone played really well.
Cavs overcome a psychological barrier today...in blowing out the Lakers on their home court.
Won't have to listen to Cav fans cry about not matching up with anyone...blah..blah...blah...like a broken record last year. -
2quik4uit would have been nice to see someone contest Shaqs shots he had 5 easy dunks bynum got his ass owned
-
SQ_Crazies
It was the clear reason for their struggles in the playoffs last year. Just stating the obvious. We won't cry about that at all this year--like we all agreed before, we solved those problems in the offseason. You could see it pretty clearly today, last year's team couldn't have handled this Laker roster. This year's team can.Footwedge wrote: Won't have to listen to Cav fans cry about not matching up with anyone...blah..blah...blah...like a broken record last year.
Hats off to Anthony Parker for doing a great job of not letting Kobe have anything easy. -
devil1197
Its exactly why Shaq was brought to Cleveland. Someone tried to debate me in a different thread, I think it was Footwedge to be exact.2quik4u wrote: it would have been nice to see someone contest Shaqs shots he had 5 easy dunks bynum got his ass owned
He was traded to Cleveland to go against Bynum, Howard, Perkins etc of all the good teams. Along with Parker and Moon for their defensive effort and making it tough.
The only thing the Cavs are missing is a real scoring 4 because JJ has been decent but he cannot create his own shot at all. It's either an easy lay up or dunk off a pass. -
SQ_Crazies
The Lakers made the mistake of not doubling him. It's hard to do with the shooters the Cavs have and of course LeBron--but even in his old age, you still have to double him or he'll get himself to the front of the rim. He's still got that ability, he just isn't as good at finishing as he once was. Did his job today though.2quik4u wrote: it would have been nice to see someone contest Shaqs shots he had 5 easy dunks bynum got his ass owned -
FlashDidn't touch the shaqtus.

I still disagree, and you can't just look at defensive perspective. Lakers D was horrible today, and generally, the overall effort wasn't there. -

That's the easiest thing to say when your team just gets beat, I understand.JakeGiant wrote:SQ_Crazies wrote:
