apparently Casey Kotchman is Jack Hannahan now, according to Matt Underwood...

lol...Manning names the "key play replay"....the two calls by the 3rd base ump. Solid effort by that fella.

Manning was hilarious today. "If it touches leather for a Yankee here, it's an out"

SMH at that horrible ump. Hopefully that 9th kickstarts them a bit though.

He is a pitchers' umpire, with an overall BB/9 two percent lower than average and an overall K/9 two percent average. This has resulted in an overall R/9 four percent below average. ... His career ejection rate is nearly twice the major league norm.

Claim to fame: Was the lone American umpire in Japanese baseball when he abruptly quit in June 1997 after being assaulted by players during a game
    LOL

Plenty of blame to go around...but again the failure of the bullpen to keep the game reasonably close is a major contributing cause of the defeat. I've come to the conclusion that Manny Acta is insane...based on the adage that "insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result".
Not only is he insane, but as alleged several times on this thread, ...he is a pu**y, too.

"No, I believed the ball was in his glove when he came out of the stands," DiMuro said. "Now that I see the tape, it's obvious that the ball fell out of his glove. In hindsight, I should have asked him to show me the ball, since he fell into the stands and out of my line of vision.
...so said Dimuro after the game.
The funny thing that a fan was "showing the ball" standing about 6 feet to the left.

I don't think I am being unreasonable in saying it might be time for Manny to go.

I think he is a good coach for initial development of young players, but has shown zero ability in either of his stops (Washington being the other) to be able to take that next step from brining along young players to winning with them when there are expectations.

His teams will lurk around .500%, but that is all he is.

Like many of our players are AAAA players, Manny is a AAAA manager.

I don't know who, but I would love to see what a manager with a winning history could do with this club.

This is the 2nd year in a row now we are headed for the swoon after a pretty good start, and it is just getting old.

    Terry Francona! Rick Manning! :D

Should we just start doing a weekly tribe thread instead of a series thread? i dont think they deserve it.

I have said since opening day that this is a .500 team. I have not been surprised by their play thus far....other than the very hot start against the easier part of the schedule.

I find it hard to believe he's good at any level

We've gotten so few calls in this game its unfuckingbelievable. I dont think those runs score if we dont have to deal with this homer bullshit.

I don't think I have seen a fast ball move as much as ubaldos

I don't think I've seen this much lack of posting due to disappointment......is that the right word? Or disgust?

Apathy. Its too hard to get excited when you know you will lose once you are behind.

Back to .500% on the season now.

I am at a loss for what to really do moving forward this year.

The farm system is barren, so I don't see how we could really make a move that would have a tangible impact on the squad this year (that is assuming the Dolans would allow any money to be spent).

This was supposed to be the start of the contention window, but you would never know it from the way this team seems stuck in neutral.

We are last in the league in attendance, and the apathy is incredible right now among the fan base.

The Dolan's really need to evaluate how realistic it is for them to keep the team long term as the fans have turned on them and even a mediocre team that is theoretically in contention isn't really driving the turnstiles.
  • wes_mantooth
Once we get Grady back and Mrs Masterson is catering cookies to the clubhouse we will be fine....geez guys...have some faith. In Dolan we trust.
