What a joke.
It is great for the NBA. People like seeing greatness. Go look at the NBA ratings again from this past season. You guys are obviously in the minority here. Casual fan doesn't want to watch, nor do they care about Charlotte vs. Toronto. It would be a travesty if Bosh had to waste away in Charlotte and win 24 games.
These guys are free agents, key word free. Oh and besides, are you really trying to make the point that Rashard Lewis is a 'good' player? Haha. I thought he was dead -

If you want to make the big bucks now, you can't go ring chasin and sign for less later.
No, all of the players who team up just need to go to your team. There would be no problem then. -

You see greatness every 4 years when the USA basketball team is assembled. That's when all all of these fantasy team you come up with actually come to fruition (see dictionary for definition). Other than that, I rather see a competitive league instead of a bunch of entitled pussy stars who have the "if you can't beat em, join em" approach. Don't kid yourself either, the ratings were high, because of the storyline with LeBron. Also, lolfail on talking about ratings. The heat/thunder series are on the bottom half, and so is the heat/mavs series. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Basketball_Association_Nielsen_ratingsjordo212000;1223176 wrote:It is great for the NBA. I'd prefer my team to earn it by actually building a team the right way as oppose to having a bunch of weak minded pussies collude to make a super team. You must have been the little kid that was picked last in recess. I am sure one day the teacher allowed you to be captain, and she gave you the first five picks so you wouldn't cry.jordo212000;1223177 wrote:No, all of the players who team up just need to go to your team. Commander of Awesomelol, pwned. Typical jordo trolling.
You also forgot to mention that the Spurs Cavs finals was the lowest rated finals in the NBA in a very long time. A great team (Spurs with Tim Duncan getting a 4th championship) and LBJ (League's best and youngest player). Talk about facts getting thrown in your face. lolfail jordo. -

LMFAO, good point. That was during the Spurs run of dominance too. They were a GREAT team. Gotta love when facts get blown in Jordo's face.Commander of Awesome;1223230 wrote:lol, pwned. Typical jordo trolling.

jpake1I'm happy with the signings of Ray and Lewis. They were both FA; good for them. Still no size, but they just won without a lot of it so we'll see. This is the NBA-- where trying to create the best team you can happens. If it happens to bug people the wrong way that Miami has done what they've done I suggest they get richer owners, better GM's, and better scouts. Pat Riley was a few moves ahead of everybody with this experiment the last two years. Every GM would have done the same thing could they have. I have to laugh at people bitching about this being a top heavy league and it being bad for the NBA as if it's something new. The NBA has been built on that structure for a very long time. It's a vicious circle, and only the faces and teams change.

Commander of AwesomeOne championship and you're talking shit like its the end all be all. So breaking the rules and tampering with FAs, quiting on cities, etc... is a good way to build a team? Cite another time this has happened please.
I guess the Spurs, Thunder, Mavs, and Lakers model is terrible way to build a franchise. Instead you should just tank for 2 years and pray that big name FAs hit the market and then chose to come to your city. Sounds like a great way to build your team and engage the fans. Worked out great for the Knicks and Nets. /sarcasm. -

osu45804Sullinger with another good outing at the Orlando Summer League again today... 16 Points 8 Rebounds, He's averaging 14.6Pts 8.6Reb in the 3 games

The thing is, he doesn't have to be 'the guy' like he was expected to be in Orlando or wherever else he played last. He's going to be playing along side Lebron, Wade, Bosh, and now Allen. Those four will combine for at least >75 points every night. This is a completely different role for him.jordo212000;1223176 wrote:Oh and besides, are you really trying to make the point that Rashard Lewis is a 'good' player? Haha. I thought he was dead -

I have literally never given a rep point on this site, but I did rep this post. I'm glad when Lebron left, the Cavs didn't resort to tanking to try and get a stud FA. Of course, they probably would never had that option because it IS Cleveland, but glad they'll soon find success because of good drafts and improving their own players.Commander of Awesome;1223447 wrote:One championship and you're talking **** like its the end all be all. AutomatikI've been seeing more Oden to Miami rumors popping up. I hope they get him on the cheap and he stays on the floor for more than 5 games.
-
Commander of AwesomeI too hope Oden stays healthy. I think Phx would be the best place for him since their staff is supposed to be amazing and the best in sports.
-
MulvaI hope he sits this year and rehabs like he planned. He needs to stop rushing back into shit.
-
jpake1Talking shit? That's a reach even for you. I said I like the signings and that we shall see. I fail to see how you took that as me getting all cocky after one ring. Not one gm would have declined to sign the big three if they could have. Not sure what tankingand quitting on a city have to do with Miami-- they did neither. Pat most certainly is to credit for these signings. To say otherwise is foolish. Pat put something together nobody even envisioned doing so. This site would have lol if somebody would have told you the Heat would sign the names they have.

friendfromlowry"Other than Kobe, LeBron, & Kevin Durant, I don't think anybody else on that team makes our [Dream Team]" - Charles Barkley quote from today. He's probably right.
-
friendfromlowryI wonder how Kris Humphries feels knowing that a major reason why no trades could be worked out was because nobody wanted him.

Probably not to bad considering he makes what like 9 mil a year?friendfromlowry;1223793 wrote:I wonder how Kris Humphries feels knowing that a major reason why no trades could be worked out was because nobody wanted him. -
MulvaPacers trade Darren Collison and Dahntay Jones for Ian Mahinmi.
I'm not a huge Collison fan, but jeez. -

Where do I even start..... First of all Knicks, Nets, Miami, Clippers, and GS all cleared cap space and hoped to sign a bunch of FAs so to say Riley is the only one who envisioned it is a fucking joke. Nice fail on that. LBJ and Bosh both straight up quit on their teams/city. LBJ even more so than Bosh, anyone who tries to say otherwise is a fool. Game 5 Celtics, nuff said. Bosh QQed about playing center in Toronto and leaves to.....PLAY a lot of Center for Miami. What a joke. Crying little bitch, LeCharles Bentley said it best when he came to cleveland, "They can put me at punter if they want to".jpake1;1223769 wrote:Talking shit? That's a reach even for you. The Heat, Knicks, Clippers and Nets were all tanking and clearing cap space for up to 2 season before the supposed FA period. BSPN was letting Cleveland know the countdown fucking daily on sportscenter that it became a damn joke. It was horrendous reporting and big reason why I consider BSPN a joke of a network and wish I could invest in a reasonable competitor. They were flat out giddy at the prospect of the juicy storyline of LBJ leaving cleveland. Again anyone who doesn't see this in hindsight is kidding themselves. LBJ gave it all to get to the finals, and lost and QQ'd like a little fucking bitch. That when the whole can't beat them join them mentality started IMO. Olympics next summer.
As for the heat not tanking, excuse while I LMAO. Even your star Dwade was bitching about the lack of moves, and cap space shedding the heat was doing. Not surprised a bandwagon heat fan refuses to remember that though. Interesting how you conviently don't recall all of the bs sheninigans that led up to your team acquiring the "big 3". Even with the big 3, they had a hard time winning the championship and LBJ had to carry them. I hope he realizes that the Cleveland teams were good enough, and no matter what it's never easy. Would have loved to see the Heat go against a hard nose defensive team like the Bulls. Their road would have been much tougher and I would like to see how the heat would have handled it.
To end the pwnage, I would just like to say that your arrogance that the heat model is the correct way to build a team is a fucking joke. It's never been done before and its won one ring. Congrats. They earned it no doubt. For my money I will take a proven method that isn't up to the whim of a fucking douchebag 27 yr old quitter who I have to whine and dine, plead, and beg to come to my "super team". Give me the spurs/det/OKC model any day of the week. -

I too was confused by this trade. Granted I don't know much about Ian Mahinmi, but I got to think Collison is a locker room head case or something.Mulva;1223801 wrote:Pacers trade Darren Collison and Dahntay Jones for Ian Mahinmi.

When George Hill got the 5 year contract Collison demanded to be traded, unless he would start (which was never gonna happen). Plus, with Big Roy on a max deal, they need some space. They still want OJ Mayo.Mulva;1223801 wrote:Pacers trade Darren Collison and Dahntay Jones for Ian Mahinmi.

wildcats20Nets sign Lopes to a 4 year, $61 mil contract and have "ended" talks to get Dwight.
Which is more than the "allowable amount" to trade someone or some shit? Ric Bucher was saying something but I wasn't paying that much attention.
