I don't think anyone rational could say that RIGHT NOW Kobe is better. LeBron owned this playoffs.

However, Kobe's body of work is far superior.

As much as I dislike the way LeBron left Cleveland, he will go down as the best all-around basketball player of all-time.

He would have to accomplish a lot over the rest of his career to do that. He is not there yet.

You forgot the rape stats. That is what puts Kobe over the top. Lebron is still looking for that first one!!

Kobe was either the one or the two in all five of his championships. Horry was not.

    They play basketball, so naturally.

Black people are pretty good at putting a ball through a hoop.

    That and dancing.

If you had access to a mad scientist basketball factory and could create the near-perfect basketball machine, you would end up with Lebron. Greatest physical talent ever, just ahead of Wilt. That said, he has a ways to go to pass Kobe on the scale of competitor/ championship winner.

BTW, if I were starting a team I would pick LeBron over Kobe.

MJ has no business being part of this comparison, he's by far better than both.

I'm confused on who actually thinks this?

Why are you comparing Robert Horry with Kobe? I thought the thread was LBJ/Kobe

anyway, chicago510's post said it best:

Because rings are a team accomplishment. Having more championships does not make someone a better player.

LeBron is a better all around player than Kobe, but with the game on the line, LeBron is passing the rock to Kobe EVERY TIME.
