Midstate01Baltimore up 5-2 on pirates.
White sox 2-0 over cards -
mhs95_06Looks like Cueto will get another try for a sacrifice.

Swinging away now -

Throw into the dugout scores a run and takes that away.mhs95_06;1197365 wrote:Looks like Cueto will get another try for a sacrifice. -
Midstate01Dude is a beast!!
-
mhs95_06No subs yet for the Reds. 8 of the 9 Reds have hits, all except Bruce who has the lead taking RBI, six players have scored runs, and 4 players have RBIs. Now that the lead is 6 and Cueto has been in the dugout a while, does dusty leave him there to start the top of the 9th? I would.
-
mhs95_06Johnny ran out onto the field right away when the last out was made, maybe to get away from Dusty before he could tell him to sit still.
-
se-alumNice bounce back win after the debacle on SNB!
-
mhs95_06Nonchalant throw by BP after making a very difficult pick-up nearly costs Johnny Cueto a complete game.
-
sherm03Hats off to Cueto on the complete game!
Great win tonight. -

That's a tough throw. Not nonchalant at all.
Great game cueto!! -

LOL....if he sets and throws, no way he gets the out.mhs95_06;1197422 wrote:Nonchalant throw by BP after making a very difficult pick-up nearly costs Johnny Cueto a complete game. -
mhs95_06If he takes his time sets and throws, sure it is too late, but he could have done better than what he did - just thought he could get away with hot-dogging it a bit on what he thought was the final play. Also Votto got a little impatient - I think if he played it better he could have bailed out BP on his poor throw.

If he's safe either way then whats it matter?? -
mhs95_06I really would have given an error on that play on Santana, and if you could split the error, I'd go 70% BP, 30% Votto. And on the Choo error on the throw to 3rd, I'd have gone 30% Choo, 70% Chisenhall.
-
Midstate01Pirates lose. Reds back up by a game
-
chicago510Cueto was really dealing in those late innings.
Joey Votto makes baseball look so easy. -

I'm not saying he'd be safe regardless!Midstate01;1197463 wrote:If he's safe either way then whats it matter?? -

Really? Sitting behind the 3rd base dugout it looked like Choo had a perfect throw and Chiz just missed it. Chiz should've had an error on the short one he tried to barehand and missed, too.mhs95_06;1197466 wrote:I really would have given an error on that play on Santana, and if you could split the error, I'd go 70% BP, 30% Votto. thavoiceWhen the throw bounces like it did on the throw to third it will be an error pretty much 100% of the time. We always tought our guys, especially at third base, to sell out stopping the throw. Be a catcher, or a hockey goalie, or whatever. Just get in front of it because if you dont there is a good chance that run will score.
I wouldnt have given Votto any % of the error on that play in the 9th. The throw was high and away and it pulled him off the bag. I do think BP coulda set and thrown and got him out. It wasnt a bang-bang play and if he had set quickly and got more on the throw I think he gets him out.
