Brian Robiskie

BlueDevil11Does anybody know why he never plays?
The few chances that he has had, he takes advantage of.
He has 5 Rec 92 Yds 0 TD 18.4 Avg.
These are pretty good stats for the few chances he has gotten.
I think he has earned more playing time. -
charliehustle14I always wonder this. Although I thought he was a reach where he was drafted, I always thought he'd be a very solid WR. He ran great routes and had pretty dependable hands in college. He's also a very tough kid.
I still think he and Mo Mass could be a good duo in the future as #2 and #3 WR's. -
miller45452003To answer your question, it would be Mangini. He's had a hard on for him since preseason. At one time Mangini asked him to be productive on special teams before he would get a chance at a WR position. Obviously Robiskie disagreed and for that he has been deactivated off the roster and on the practice squad. This to me makes no effin sense when we just HAD to draft him in the top of the 2nd round. We didn't dare draft Maualuga out of USC!!

I definitely agree with this. I am kind of hoping we pick up Vincent Jackson(SD) through free agency in the offseason.charliehustle14 wrote: I always wonder this. That'd be a SWEET pick up but I don't see SD letting him go anywhere. VJ and Rivers have developed a strong friendship off the field and you gotta believe the Chargers want to keep Rivers happy. Plus, with being in the SD market, I have to believe the Chargers can throw a lot of money at VJ to keep him.miller45452003 wrote:

Yeah, you could be correct. But I look for Lerner to go balls in this offseason. They have plenty of $$$ to spend on free agency and with the likeliness of a desirable GM or "czar", I look for that to attract some decent talent. I think Lerner finally realized that he needs to pay more attention to putting a winning team on the field rather than paying so much attention to his beloved soccer team. People are NOT renewing there PSL's and that may have woke him up somewhat. OR at least I hope so..lol!!charliehustle14 wrote:

jordo212000I thought for sure that the Browns were going to take Maulaluga during the draft. It was a huge break for Cincy, he's been a stud

pkebkerI haven't seen the flashes you speak of. He seems like an underachieving WR, who needs to work harder on special teams. Does he block well on run plays? That could be another reason for lack of playing time, maybe he doesn't focus on the little things like blocking...

This year's WR FA class is kind of weak. Basically, it's Brandon Marshall, Vincent Jackson, Miles Austin, and no one else ( I doubt BE is coming back and TO is a stupid signing anymore for any team). So hopefully the Brownies at least take a serious look at one of those 3.miller45452003 wrote:

Why would you ask us if he blocks well on run plays when he never plays? So obviously, we can't answer that question for you. He was a damn good blocker in college, though.pkebker wrote: I haven't seen the flashes you speak of. He seems like an underachieving WR, who needs to work harder on special teams. Its something to consider though, maybe he doesn't block in practice. Mangini is all about the little stuff like that, so who knows. I'm not saying he's a poor blocker, i'm just speculating a reason why maybe he's not playing.charliehustle14 wrote:

I respect that mindset and attitude by Mangini...but I have seen many of those little things not executed on the field. So why keep Robo on the bench when in reality, every player on this team makes numerous mistakes.pkebker wrote:

ts1227Mangini obviously hates Ohio State
-
se-alumAt this point, he's either really, really bad or he has pissed Mangini off.

Thunder70Mangini is a moron is why Robiske doesn't play more. Why draft a WR in the 2nd round to play special teams. Another priceless decison by Cleveland's moron of a coach...
-
devil1197Its all Mangini, it has nothing to do with being in the doghouse etc.
Robo and MMass will be good receivers for Cleveland imo. -
gerb131Hard to believe out of nearly all Ohio St receivers Hartline is the man.

So what you are saying is that if Mangini is gone both recievers will have better on field results?devil1197 wrote: Its all Mangini, it has nothing to do with being in the doghouse etc.

No, what I am saying is both WR's will see the field all the time during next season if Mangini is gone.pkebker wrote:

You cannot have better results on the field without the opportunity to be on the field. I follow the Browns and nothing was indicated to me that Robiskie should be on the sidelines. -

So are you in favor of a new coach next season? I feel like Mangini's done a good job developing some talent (Evan Moore, Roth, Schaefering) , while letting others flounder(Veikune, Robiskie, Harrison). So I've been curious as to if it's Mangini keeping them off the field, or are they not deserving to be on the field.devil1197 wrote:

devil1197No, I am not in favor of a new coach actually. I want Mangini to have another year with the young guys and our defense under Ryan who has played very well despite injuries. But everything I read stated that Robo should have been on the field instead of the bench. But under a different coach Robiskie sees the field more this year compared to under Mangini imo.
I wouldn't say Mangini has developed Roth as they picked him off waivers in late November. He is very talented but just didn't fit in the Dolphins plans. A great pick up but not developed. -

That's what happens when you draft a guy 1-2 rounds too high.THUNDER70 wrote: Mangini is a moron is why Robiske doesn't play more. Why draft a WR in the 2nd round to play special teams. Another priceless decison by Cleveland's moron of a coach... -

In practice he's been terrible. Much like Jerome Harrison, which is why they are usually inactive.BlueDevil11 wrote: Does anybody know why he never plays?

When they have a productive week practicing, they are active for the game and they get a good amount of playing time.
Robiskie was the, supposed, most NFL ready WR in the last draft, and he is just now finally seeing time because he can't be consistent in practice.
