se-alumPBF is a great fighter, but lets not act like he isn't scared of Paq. PBF's excuse about having to ensure his health for his families sake is hilarious!!

A hometown fight for PBF would be DetroitTy Webb;1163570 wrote:Why the **** should Mayweather be the only one who decides on the date an venue?? Is he god?? There are three venues that would even work for this fight: Cowboys Stadium,Louisiana Superdome, and the Georgia Dome. A venue like MGM Grand would not be able to accomadate the crowd for this fight
Besides...Mayweather hasn't fought outside of LV since 2005. Manny would be ****ing stupid to agree to what would be a hometown fight for Floyd -

lol, what are you talking about? He's P4P the best boxer in the world...robj55;1163569 wrote:People need to stop with this Floyd Mayweather is the best fighter on the planet stuff. He is an amazing boxer, but he is not the baddest man on the planet, that's silly.
I don't think people are comparing him to Jon Jones? -

sherm03I think there's underlying reasons why the fight won't happen that nobody wants to talk about.
I've said it before, but look at this way...the only story line that keeps boxing (somewhat) relevant is "when will Pac and PBF fight?" If the fight happens...there is no more story line for boxing to cling to in order and the sport slips even further into obscurity. Basically, a PBF/Pac fight will end the sport, IMO. And nobody wants that to happen. So they take turns making the other look like they are ducking the fight so that the controversy can keep on keeping on and the sport can get some exposure. The fight won't happen because there will be no more "mega-fights" to look forward to afterwards and the casual fan will give up on boxing altogether. -

Yeah they should say that then, because there are so many dudes out there that would beat him in a fight. He is one of the best boxers in the world no question though.Hb31187;1163573 wrote:Obviously they mean best boxer, which he def is. -

Thats obviously why hes a boxer? Lol nobodys trying to say hes a better all around fighter than MMA fightersrobj55;1163582 wrote:Yeah they should say that then, because there are so many dudes out there that would beat him in a fight. He is one of the best boxers in the world no question though.
Def has better hands than anyone in the UFC though, but obviously no ground game or anything along those lines -
hoops23Fact is, neither boxer is scared of the other. To think that is incredibly ignorant.
The politics are the reason the fight isn't happening. Bob Arum being the biggest. -

I mean how many people could name the Heavyweight Champ without looking it up? -

2kool4skoolBoxing stays more relevant with Pac and PBF not fighting. Right now, they have two major draws. If they fight, they have one major draw. Neither side wants to risk losing their cash-cow in a fight that could very easily go either way.
If there were more big PPV draws in boxing, there might be more incentive to make the fight, but there's not. These two are it. -

lol, exactly. PBF fights in Vegas because of the $$$ and Vegas IS boxing. However, he's rarely a crowd favorite.dazedconfused;1163578 wrote:was the fight not at mgm grand tonight? were there not "cotto, cotto, cotto" chants? -

Well then he's not the baddest man on the planet, of the best fighter, that was my only point. Not trying to take anything from him, nothing he can control.Hb31187;1163584 wrote:Thats obviously why hes a boxer? Lol nobodys trying to say hes a better all around fighter than MMA fighters

Put PBF in the octagon, he loses. Put a MMA fighter in the ring against Floyd and he loses.robj55;1163583 wrote:they need to be specific, he is one of the best BOXERS in the world, not fighters
You're trying to pick a fight between MMA and boxing and nobody is even bringing anything like that up.
That's like picking beef against a baseball announcer because he called a baseball athlete the best player in the world... Would you hold beef with him over that in regards to comparing him to NFL or NBA players? lol. -

Its apples to oranges. Like comparing a Marathon runner to Usain Bolt.
