The Weeden Era

  • DeyDurkie5
Well, welcome to the Ginger show browns fans. It's pretty clear McCoy is the 2nd stringer now, and Weeden is running the show.

I don't think Colt is going to be on the roster come this fall.

Much like the Broncos needed to get rid of Tebow when the brought in Manning, the Browns need to get rid of Colt now that Weeden is here. He has a pocket of fan support that will be calling for him as long as he is on the roster. You can eliminate that entire side show by just cutting him (I doubt anyone would trade for him) and being done with it.

You don't draft a 28 year old QB to sit him, so just cut Colt and take away the potential of any side shows or distractions. That is all his presence will generate.

Colt's dad will soon voice his displeasure.

He has won 6 games in 2 years. I doubt anyone will be calling for him.

Saw it pointed out on the OBR and it is totally true.

Bernie only had 6-7 high level seasons in this city and he is still thought of as a God.

People worried that Weeden can't be a 13-15 year starter are getting way ahead of themselves as Browns fans everywhere would nut themselves to get a 5 year run of high level QB play with what we have endured the past 13 years at the position.

Hell even a 2 year run I would nut myself if I had nuts. I just want to win.

If Weeden's age ever becomes a factor, he'll have been the best QB we've had since we returned.

SMH, no they won't. The pocket support was calling for not making a knee jerk pick on a 29 year old QB. No one gives a fuck about McCoy. How hard is that to comprehend?

    You should talk to cc.

Yawn..Weeden is garbage. He'll fail just like Brady Quinn and Colt McCoy.

Should have taken DeCastro, WR w/ 37, RT in the 3rd, and Sanu in the 3rd.

You have a shitty year this year, you draft a franchise QB...and yes, if you get hte 8th overall pick next year you trade up to get ur franchise QB.

Just went from "cool with H&H" to "fuck H&H"

    Retards

According to the article the Browns will be looking to trade McCoy.

I don't think you'll have to worry about one of those "H's" being around much longer.

I think Green Bay might be a good situation for him.

I have heard Holmgren wants to get out for a while now, but knew he couldn't leave until he found a QB. Might help explain why they took Weeden at 22 to ensure they got an upgrade at the position instead of hoping he falls risking the chance of losing him at 37.
  • derek bomar
why the hell would he want to leave a job where he does nothing but steal fat paychex all day?

I posted on the Browns thread that curiosity made me listen to Kiley & Booms (92.3) this morning (have switched to XM NFL Radio). Booms usually rip on H&H and he, along with Kiley, were RAVING about these picks. I was stunned that they had a favorable reaction.

My take on why I didn't want Weeden at 22. If you're going to trade up to take your franchise RB at 3, why not use the 22 pick on Decastro/Reiff to give yourself a great opportunity to have a dominant running game? At this point, and I know it goes against the popular vote of taking a WR w/ the first 2nd rounder, but I want Cordy Glen to put out at RT. A young QB's best friend is a good line and running game.

Why are we trading McCoy? that leaves us with Wallace as the backup? No thanks. Trade his ass and keep McCoy.

I don't think you can keep McCoy at this point. They went all-in w/ Weeden, so no reason to keep McCoy around and have controversy.
