The Weeden Era

Controversy with who? The fans? IDGAF about that, I want to keep guys who know the system around. Wallace has proven to be nothing but as asshat since he's been here. Good riddance to that guy. I dont think there are any fans around that still champion McCoy, if there are they're kidding themselves. McCoy can be a solid back up QB and thats valuable.se-alum;1154815 wrote:I don't think you can keep McCoy at this point. They went all-in w/ Weeden, so no reason to keep McCoy around and have controversy. -

His daddy will be an issue. Plus if he has a little value use it to move up. -

This. After what happened with the concussion I could see his dad QQing about it. They don't need the distraction. Let them bash the regime when he's (McCoy) gone.bases_loaded;1154819 wrote:His daddy will be an issue. Plus if he has a little value use it to move up. -
bases_loaded6'4" 220lbs cannon arm, accurate.
Sign me up. The reason guys don't last 20 years is because the toll on their bodies. He has had the same or less toll of any 22 year old coming out but with the maturity of a 29 year old. -

He was a pitcher in minor league baseball for 5 years. IF you dont think that takes a toll on your body, you're kidding yourself.bases_loaded;1154841 wrote:6'4" 220lbs cannon arm, accurate.

If they picked Julio Jones last year Colt McCoy would have had that weapon he was missing and would have taken the Browns to the playoffs and then not had the 4th pick in the draft this year to pick Richardson.

RotinajI think it's funny that before yesterday everyone who gave H&H shit was ridiculed by most on here and now those same people are giving them shit. The team hasn't improved at all since they took over and now they get hoodwinked into moving up 1 spot and they draft weeden at 22. The 5 year plan in action!!!!!

What took more of a toll. That or arena football? -

Richardson is in Tampa without the 4th rounder from atl -
hoops23I'm ok with the Falcons trade, it allowed us to move up to grab Richardson for sure and we also grabbed Phil Taylor last year.
-
bases_loadedWe could "have" Richardson and Jones OR Taylor, Little, Richardson, Weeden.

shook_17glad the mccoy era is over. weeden will do just fine. it will be nice now knowing defenses cant stack the box against us because we will beat them deep now

Lol at thinking all of a sudden Weeden is going to come in and make this offense come to life. Just because he is a old fucker doesn't mean he is not a rookie. You are really delusional if you think this guy is going to be productive from day 1. -
BR1986FB
Not at all. If they get a receiver that can stretch the field along with Weeden's ability to throw a deep ball, this should open things up for the passing game AND for Richardson to thrive. When defenses know they can't only key on Richardson they'll have to back off.Raw Dawgin' it;1154893 wrote:i'm assuming this is sarcasm... -

LOL...beat them deep with who?? Our WR's that can't create separation? Doesn't matter if Weeden can throw the ball 80 yards if nobody can get open to catch it. Not to mention it takes time for deep routes to develope, something our sieve of an offensive line doesn't allow for.shook_17;1154890 wrote:glad the mccoy era is over. weeden will do just fine. it will be nice now knowing defenses cant stack the box against us because we will beat them deep now  -
shook_17lol at all you guys being pissy because we are in a "win now mode" and trade 3 picks to get trent richardson and drafting our franchise qb. you guys wanted to get a rb/wr/ot and let colt mccoy be our qb and suck ass again next year then draft a qb next year, which is a joke. you play to win and compete for division titles, not to suck and hope for a top five pick next year to get our qb. what a joke.

lol. reciever is the deepest position in this draft. hill and randle could be had tonight, they will create separation and stretch the field, this will allow trich to thrive next year. and still if they don't want either of those ryan broyles and jeffery could be had still. colt mccoy struggled last year to hit A. recievers in stride, and B. with is accuracy. Weeden accels at that and the job of the qb is to make the players around you better, colt didn't do that. wedden will. get over it.se-alum;1154901 wrote:LOL...beat them deep with who?? sleeperI've settled down regarding the pick. We got Richardson, a relevant running back. I wish Weeden the best, but I doubt it. I think it was a knee jerk reaction pick, especially when you have Decastro fall into your lap and you pass on him.
-
zach24ozI think that it is a fact that Weeden has a better/stronger arm than McCoy and that if they can get a deep threat and another wr later they should be better. Some wrs I would take later would be some Big Ten guys like Marvin McNutt (Iowa), Posey, BJ Cunningham (Mich St), Nick Toon (Wisc) and then guys like Chris Givens, Joe Adams, Chris Rainey, and Little's teammate from UNC Dwight Jones. So they'll still have some options later on too, not saying they'll be just as good as the first tier, but they could be good players.

People gotta see through the eyes of a GM, not the "wishful thinking" of a fan. This regime knows they are under pressure and you KNEW Heckert was going to put them in a position to win NOW. They may not be around next year to draft Barkley.shook_17;1154904 wrote:lol at all you guys being pissy because we are in a "win now mode" and trade 3 picks to get trent richardson and drafting our franchise qb. you guys wanted to get a rb/wr/ot and let colt mccoy be our qb and suck ass again next year then draft a qb next year, which is a joke. you play to win and compete for division titles, not to suck and hope for a top five pick next year to get our qb. what a joke. -

Lol right. So after winning 14 games the last 3 seasons all of sudden they are in WIN NOW mode? Excuse me while I lmao. Taking short cuts isn't WIN NOW mode, it's being desperate and hoping people like you will stop crying. They were going to be drafting the same position next year regardless of who our QB is. Lol at thinking Weeden will make this team a winner right away. Luck and RG3 will be more productive than him, and the good news for them is they won't be 30 going into their next season.
For a young person your desperation for a playoff team is comical. Maybe instead of playing in a fail youth league that played on Sundays (allegedly), you could have watches the Browns last playoff team. -
zach24ozLuck and RGIII should be more productive than Weeden since they were taken 1 and 2 in the draft.

Y-Town SteelhoundHere's what makes no sense to me. If you're going to draft Weeden to be your QB of the future, that's fine.....but why draft Richardson instead of his favorite target in Blackmon!? And if you're gonna draft Richardson to be the focal point of your offense that's fine....But why not draft a RT and shore up the line to give him the best opportunity possible to succeed? The Richardson/Weeden combo doesn't make much sense to me.
