Royals at Indians 4/24 - 4/26
-
grodtThe Tribe returns from a successful road trip that saw them go 7-2. Kansas City rolls in to town reeling from an 11-game losing streak. Asdrubal returns from bereavement list to try to an offense that suddenly found itself the last 9 games.
Matchups:
Sanchez vs. Lowe
Hochevar vs. Tomlin
Mendoza vs. Jimenez
Fun Facts: Travis Hafner leads the AL in OBP, and Jason Kipnis leads the AL in triples. -
grodtOh, and as always....Go Tribe!
-
BR1986FBKeep up the good work, grodt. Hope you have to start EVERY series thread this year.
Need at least 2 of 3 in this series, 4 of 6 on the homestand.
GO TRIBE!!! -
Laley23Royals suck now, have to win te series. Game 1 is of the utmost importance.
-
HitsRus^^^^I like the way you think Laley. You want to get in the Royals heads early after sweeping them last week.
I like the fact that Lowe is going tonite...old vet will be sure to keep us in the game. -
ohiobucks1I think we sweep.
-
royal_kTonight won't be easy going against Sanchez who is LH. Hopefully we get the good Derek Lowe.
Go Tribe! -
BRFBRF checking in to say Go Tribe!
So one more win on the last road trip would have been a club record.
And wtg, grodt! -
Glory DaysIs that Jesus behind the royals dugout?
-
Glory Daysbases loaded, no outs, no runs, go tribe....?
-
hoops23Sanchez walks the bases loaded with no outs and we get nothing because Kipnis and Druby go up swinging at everything? Terrible.
-
iclfan21-1 now. Kipnis pissed me off watching the pitcher throw 4 straight balls, and then swinging at the first pitch. C'mon man.
-
iclfan2Duncan with a Sac fly to make it 2-1. Then Supermanahan hits a 2 out, 2rbi double to make it 4-1. Sanchez has been alll over the place.
-
hoops23Finally made Sanchez pay. Supermanahan. Seems like the Tribe made the right choice by sticking with him over Chiz.

wes_mantoothGreat win, but God I hate Perez
-
ts1227Apparently the road trip didn't get too many excited (plus it's fucking cold)... 9,137 paid to see it
-
grodtI'm guessing the cold hurt a bunch. They kinda got screwed because most of their road wins came after everyone was asleep on the east coast so no one watched them.
Slight adjustment, Ubaldo and Tomlin are switching days. So, Ubaldo goes tomorrow and Tomlin Thursday. -
ohiobucks1Still calling the sweep
-
BR1986FB1st place Tribe ! Has a nice ring to it.
-
HitsRus^^^nice....but why do we feel it's not going to last?.....ehhhh time to stop complaining (I've been a big offender) and start enjoying! We all said we needed a fast start...well this is it!
Ubaldo on the hill tonite...and I'm going! -

Eh, we are good now, but just wait till our big offseason signing(Grady) starts playing.....we will be like the '27 Yankees. -
HitsRusIt almost seems we are winning despite ourselves.

Right. They aren't really hitting well, but getting big 2 out hits. I think I heard the say that over 50 percent of their runs are scored with two outs.
The pitching hasn't been dominant....so yeah, I don't know how they keep winning -
IggyPride00Very favorable early season schedule has been a major help to the club and thankfully has helped us get out fast.
KC is possibly the worst team I have ever seen (who has a 12 game losing streak 3 weeks into the season!) and Seattle and Oakland are poor offensive clubs.
In past years that 9 game road trip would have been tough, but playing those teams for the 9 games was alot better than the AL east early in the season.
We literally need to sweep KC and not just win the series. Get every win possible from them as they are a world class bottom feeder.
