Is Lebron James well liked outside of Ohio?
-
mallymal614This first came to my mind around the time of the 2007 NBA Finals when many experts thought Lebron would help out the ratings, only for it to be the worse Finals ratings in NBA History. He released a movie this year and it flop big time. There also been much criticism for his dancing and not shaking players’ hands following playoff losses. Now I look at the votes for the All-Star game and he is fourth overall and not even leading his own conference. All this is surprising for someone many predicted would be the face of the league. It makes me wonder what some people may have against him.

bigdaddy2003In my travels outside of Ohio I have noticed that a lot of people don't care for him. Varejao is the player that people really have disdain for though. I can't say I blame them on that point though.

NateI live in Ohio and I hate Anderson also.

Strapping Young LadLebron James isn't well liked IN Ohio...
What's to like??? Again, he acted like a poor sport in defeat last year when he stormed off the court w/out shaking hands.
He acts like an ass when he shows up his opponent with his queer dancing.
He's had everything handed to him (king james) and never won anything, acting like God's gift to the world along the way....
The T.O. of the NBA.....How do people feel about him???? -

lol I will be waiting to hear the "if you aren't a Cavs fan you aren't going to like him" posts.Keebler wrote: I live in Ohio and I hate Anderson also. -
MulvaI'm a Cavs fan in Ohio and I still hate Anderson. I think he's a bitch.

Nate
The sad thing is, I am a Cavs fan. I've never been an Anderson fan. I honest to god HATE floppers. He flops when someone farts. I'd be happy to never see him in a Cavs uniform again.bigdaddy2003 wrote:

Yeah, I hate floppers also and I hate the way he looks when he doesn't get the flop or he thinks he gets fouled. I also hate the people who say he should be on the all defensive team.Keebler wrote:

I am a Cavs fan and I cannot stand AV. His flopping and constant whining is horrible to watch. I cannot imagine what fans of other teams think of him.bigdaddy2003 wrote: In my travels outside of Ohio I have noticed that a lot of people don't care for him. GOONx19I'd say the majority of people here at UK like him.
-
thedynasty1998He's well liked. That's not even up for debate. There is a reason his shoes sells well and sponsors are throwing money at him. It's because he's popular and sells goods. If he wasn't popular and people didn't like him, he wouldn't get the money he does.
Are there some that don't like him? Sure. As there are for anyone of his stature. But in general, he's one of the most liked athletes of all time. -
sleeperHe's quite possibly the greatest basketball player to ever touch a basketball, of course he's well liked. I mean people liked Jordan and he was 10x the ass that Lebron is. All he needs is a ring or two and he will be the GOAT, guaranteed.
-
bigdaddy2003^Jordan was 10 times the ass Lebron is? Ha nah.

Disagree. LBJ has the POTENTIAL to be the greatest ever. I will say that. I have said on many occasions, he is the most physically gifted basketball player ever.sleeper wrote: He's quite possibly the greatest basketball player to ever touch a basketball, of course he's well liked. However, LBJ is not in the top 20 basketball players ever at this very moment, sorry. MJ,Wilt,Oscar,Russell,West,Magic,Bird,Dr J, Kareem, Moses, Karl, Shaq, Cousy, Archibald, etc etc. -
dazedconfusedi don't think anderson's been flopping that much this season...i'm still not his biggest fan though
i can also see why lebron could rub some people the wrong way with his actions and demeanor on the court -

Well they were playing the Spurs--the Spurs have never brought in good ratings. The Cavs had nothing outside of LeBron, the team was shit. And regarding his movie--he didn't release it (he was just in it), and how can you say it flopped? It got good ratings, award nominations and it was only released in select cities--not nationwide. From what I've heard it's been a huge success for the people who made it--it was a low budget movie.mallymal614 wrote: This first came to my mind around the time of the 2007 NBA Finals when many experts thought Lebron would help out the ratings, only for it to be the worse Finals ratings in NBA History. thedynasty1998Lebron is certainly a top 20 player of all time.

Fly4FunI can tell you he's loved by New Yorkers... they absolutely love the guy.
And whoever said he isn't well liked in Ohio is just clueless. Just because you are jealous of the guy or hate him because he's better than your favorite player, doesn't mean everyone else agrees with you. -

I am from New York, and I really like Lebron. Do I love him? Well, no, but he is a pleasure to watch. Not sure he has the charisma that Jordan had, or the presence that Shaq had in his prime, or the circus that Barkley brought. Granted, if he was on my team, that "like" would flip to "love" pretty quick ...Fly4Fun wrote: I can tell you he's loved by New Yorkers... they absolutely love the guy.

bigdaddy2003I don't have much of a problem with LeBron. I really don't care for Varejao though. I don't believe in the whole your just jealous because he is better than your favorite player junk though. That is stupid.

Mr. 300Blasphemy I say. Leboob not liked??? Get your head examined.

I too been hearing good reviews about the movie. My statement was based on Box Office Sales - http://gallicwars.wordpress.com/2009/10/06/news-eves-whip-it-lebron-james-more-than-a-game-score-low-box-office-sales/SQ_Crazies wrote:

SQ_CraziesWhat did you expect it to do at the box office? It was a documentary and it was only shown in LA, Chicago, NY, Cleveland and Akron I think--maybe a few more places, either way it was pretty exclusive, you're speaking of it as if it was nationwide. And it wasn't about him anyways--he was just the biggest name obviously. It was about his high school team. Most think the movie did extremely well.
