Is Lebron James well liked outside of Ohio?

You have a great point. I never knew it was showed in limited cities.

I haven't seen it yet, so I can't really comment on whether it's any good or not--but I do know that it wasn't shown in very many places.

I do plan on buying the DVD though.

Sorry but he is not a top 20 player of all time yet. He could be and more than likely will be at some point but right now, no. Has to get a ring to even be in the conversation of one of the greats to play the game.

And it would not surprise me if people outside of Ohio don't like him. Same goes for people outside of California not liking Kobe or people outside of Pittsburgh not liking Crosby. Would Lebron have a approval rating over 50%, I would think so but his latest dancing antics and walking off after the playoffs last year hurt him more than some would like to think.

So if Lebron retired right now he would not be considered one of the all time greats? Right... That is patently false and you know it. Maybe to be the GOAT (or top 3) he needs some rings, but everyone knows he has been on crappy teams. He has almost single-handedly lead his team to the playoffs his entire tenure in the league. He lead a TERRIBLE team in 2007 to the NBA Finals. Come on, the starters besides Z & Lebron were essentially Pavlovic, Gibson, and Gooden with frickin hurt Larry Hughes, Eric Snow, Ira Newble, David Wesley, etc. That team would barely crack 25 wins without Lebron. Not to mention Lebron has had gaudy numbers nearly every year in the league, which have only been rivaled by Jordan and Oscar Robertson. He has been a top 3 player nearly every year in league, and has arguably been the best in the last 2-3 years.

People just like to rag on him for not being clutch (surprise, Lebron is statistically more clutch than Kobe), and for not having the shooting touch that Kobe/Wade has. As if you have to be a great shooter to be one of the greats! People just do not know how to classify Lebron because he can play nearly every position on the floor--just because he brings the ball up the floor does not mean he is on the floor to be a shooter. He is there to do whatever he can to get points on the board.

Can he improve? Of course. He needs to stop pounding the ball at the top of the key (which is partly a consequence of still having a less than stellar supporting cast), he needs to develop a post game, and he needs a slightly more killer instinct. But he is STILL one of the greats.

I agree LBJ is a great player and that LBJ will one day be top 20 and probably top 10 ever. Heck the guy could very well end up top 5 or #1 overall if the chips fall just right for him.

However, you or Dynasty would seriously feel like he would be top 20 right now this second? With that claim, players like my man Dominique Wilkins should be too then I assume? I feel like there are 3-4 resumes(Kobe,DWade,Shaq for sure) in the NBA RIGHT NOW that trump his and to say that 16-17 more do not exist ever is tough for me to believe.

There is a difference between the top 20 careers ever and the top 20 players ever IMO. When you're talking top 20 players, you're talking the best players--period. Not their legacy. I feel like if LeBron retired tomorrow he'd have to be considered one of the best 20 players ever. He's already put up some of the best statistical seasons in NBA history and he's not 25 yet. There has never been a player that was anything like him. If you're talking top 20 careers, then clearly he has a lot more to do before his career numbers are top 20 worthy--but as far as the best 20 players to ever play...he's already there. If you disagree with that, I'll tell you that there are a lot of people that agree with this view--if there weren't then how did Shaq make the 50 Greatest Players of All Time list? He was voted on that list by a lot of GREATS before he ever won a title--they made the list in '96...he entered the league in '92.

Doesn't really matter, he isn't going to retire tomorrow lol. He'll leave little doubt with anyone that he's AT LEAST top 10 by the time he is done--same with Kobe. Pretty awesome that we have two guys playing right now who will probably go down in the top 10. It gets even crazier when you consider some of the other guys playing too--Wade, Melo, Howard, Paul and Garnett don't take a backseat to hardly anyone and guys like Durant are surging in a big way. It'll be interesting to see what the NBA record books look like in 10-15 years--I think if they revised the 50 Greatest list someday, there would be quite a few guys playing right now who would be on it. Say whatever you want old guys, but there is absolutely nothing you can do to convince me that the NBA has ever been better than it is right now from a player standpoint. Never been this deep with talent.

What's to like??? Again, he acted like a poor sport in defeat last year when he stormed off the court w/out shaking hands.

He acts like an ass when he shows up his opponent with his queer dancing.

He's had everything handed to him (king james) and never won anything, acting like God's gift to the world along the way....

The T.O. of the NBA.....How do people feel about him????
What has he been handed besides teams that were full of scrubs for the most part?

The title, King James. And all that goes along with it.

    Like fly said.

I wouldn’t worry about it. He’ll be loved in New York.

You know the scary thing when people compare LeBron to the best ever, he is only 24.

    Lebron not liked outside Ohio...Hahaha.

Cavs and Lebron gear is quite popular in China...where over 300 MILLION people PLAY the game. LeBron jersey are second only to Kobe.

Chinese investor set to buy 15% of the Cavs. Huge implications in getting LBJ to re-up.

The only people doing that are the delusional Cavs fans on an internet board.

I agree with that statement. The media was very kind to Jordan, but Jordan is not very well-liked by his peers. Did you see his hall-of-fame induction speech? I don't believe theres ever been a bigger dick move in all of sports.

Jordan=possibly the biggest asshole superstar athlete of all time

Agreed 100%. MJ was a prick.. Dude knocked out Steve Kerr in practice once I think
  • Darkon
One thing about MJ was you never heard of him running out on the Bulls for more money!
He stayed and won 6 titles in the end.
  • SQ_Crazies
You're right--LeBron is such an asshole for running out on the Cavs for more money.

LMAO, and even if he DOES, it won't be for more money--the Cavs can offer him the most.

The Cavs may be able to give him a larger contract but he can make more in the NY media market. Do you believe they have a better chance to win than the cavs.
I'm a LBJ fan. I also put alot into lotalty. Yes I know its a biusness but I don't believe he will ever worry about money.

If he leaves, it will be about money. If it's not that then he'd take a lower salary and jump to a powerhouse.

I however do not think he'll leave. Doesn't Shaq's salary come off the books after this season? I feel they are playing this season to get to the summer. Shaq's money opens the door for a HUGE name to come in. I could see them targeting Bosh and taking off from there!

    Hope your right.
Would like to see the cavs bring home the title.

I think if that goes right for them, we could see LBJ vs Kobe in the Finals for a few years in a row. Boston is getting older and I feel this is their last year to win it. They will be great again next season as well, but i think we will begin to see a tale off. Orlando is great too but with Bosh, Cavs would be ready to go! I still have to say I like my Lakers to win it the next 2 though if healthy.
  • Darkon
I agree. The Lakers are still young for the most part. I don't know the contract situation for most of these players but it could be the next "Dynasty" team.
  • HiddenGems
Almost everyone is locked in for a little while.
  • SQ_Crazies
The biggest myth in sports it that LeBron could make more money in a market like NY.
