Troy Smith signs with...
-
Laley23Serious question. Is Troy signing with the thought Ben might get hurt, because he wants to win, or because he doesnt think he will get a shot (to start) elsewhere?
Just seems odd for a guy who probably thinks he shoul dbe starting to go sign with a team who has a 2 time SB champion under center. -
IliketurtlesHaha this thread is awesome.... I think the best part was trying to make a joke about Terry Tate and getting his college and major dead on.
As for Smith good for him for getting into the NFL... -

Yeah, but Ben is always beat up.... -

That was a joke directed at pick6. In the last Troy Smith thread he was lecturing us because he had business sense and was an accounting major. Still funny that it applied to Terry Tate hahaIliketurtles;1061979 wrote:Haha this thread is awesome.... Yeah I know when I read you posted that I laughed out loud because I knew Terry had graduated from OSU with an accounting degree. Im also rereading that thread pick6 made last year its pure gold.jordo212000;1062006 wrote:That was a joke directed at pick6. Pick6 from that thread- "because the 49ers have won all of 3 games??? lulz. let me know when they do something in the playoffs."
Hey Pick6 Did you watch Alex Smith last week? He did something in the playoffs if you didn't watch it. -
jordo212000Pick6 made so many ridiculous statements in that thread. I'm actually shocked he had the stones to bring all this on himself again by starting a new thread. Kudos to him for that.

Yeah I know. But I think my last resort would be sign with a team whose QB was always hurt. Not jumping at it right away and hoping a guy gets hurt...wes_mantooth;1061988 wrote:Yeah, but Ben is always beat up....
Maybe he doesnt think he will get many opportunities in general. -

Yeah, I don't think there is much for him.
I am so curious to know what he did to black ball himself. He did according to Cleveland sportstalk..but they wouldn't say what -
Pick6
yeah um cool. who picked the 49ers to do this good this season? Nobody. If thats all you guys have to come at me with, that I was wrong because a team and a player who have done bad for nearly a decade have exceeded expectations, I've already won.Iliketurtles;1062016 wrote:Yeah I know when I read you posted that I laughed out loud because I knew Terry had graduated from OSU with an accounting degree. Troy Smith is an NFL caliber player, or the Steelers wouldnt have signed him. You all are wrong. Deal with it. -
Laley23Most of us agreed he should be in the NFL though right? At least Im pretty sure we did. We just didnt think he should start, and used him being out of the league as proof of that, not so much that he shouldnt be in the league.
This signing in no way proves anyone wrong with that thinking. Unless he somehow beats out Big Ben. -

Cool. But that definitely wasn't your original argument. You were saying he should be starting, not merely that he was NFL caliber -
karen lotzHe also said San Francisco is one of the worst run franchises in football and they don't know how to evaluate talent, didn't he?

LOL! No one said anything about the 49ers except for you saying Troy Smith should be starting instead of Alex Smith and that Alex Smith wouldn't do anything this year. You asked us to tell you when Alex Smith actually did something in the playoffs well that's what I did.Pick6;1062252 wrote:yeah um cool. who picked the 49ers to do this good this season? Nobody. Also NO ONE on here as ever doubted that Smith could be on an NFL team we have all just said he is not a starter. You're wrong. Deal with it. Have fun sucking on Smith's nuts your almost as bad as the Tebow lovers.
Yeah and that since he had taken some business and accounting classes in college that he knew how to evaluate talent. I mean I have a Bachelors in Accounting and my MACC(Masters in Accountancy) and am working on getting my CPA and even I know that I don't know as much as the people who work for NFL teams.karen lotz;1062322 wrote:He also said San Francisco is one of the worst run franchises in football and they don't know how to evaluate talent, didn't he? -

ts1227I think a team should just sign Smith and Pryor, because they would obviously go undefeated for as long were both on the roster.

I think just having them on the practice squad should be sufficient, right? -

NFL caliber is NFL caliber. Never underestimate the impact they can have on a team from the practice squad. -
