Not even sure he could fix that team, I don't see Melo and D12 as a good fit together either really.hoops23;1063659 wrote:Guy on the radio didn't think Mike would be HC much longer.. He thinks the Knicks try to bring back a former Knick player as HC... One who has won 2 titles as a Knick player and 11 as a HC. -
MulvaDirk started playing in the German league when he was 16. He played in the 2nd tier though.

I don't think he's hit his ceiling either... But I'm not sure how much improvement he actually has left.Laley23;1063660 wrote:Interesting, but I dont think so. Different game. He will figure out how to score in America. Now, his shooting may be ingrained, and not improve too much. But I doubt that he has hit his ceiling at 21.
Just wondering. How long had the others been playing pro in Europe? Dirk, Peja, etc?
The thing about Dirk and Peja, they were scorers who could flat out shoot. You do bring up a valid point though.
Rubio could definitely work on his jumpshot to improve that, but I'm sure he's worked on it quite a bit as is. Maybe NBA coaching would be able to help him improve in that area...
Dirk was 20 when he got drafted... Not sure about Peja, I'd have to look. -

They need a point guard and a bench a lot more than a new center in my opinion.robj55;1063663 wrote:Not even sure he could fix that team, I don't see Melo and D12 as a good fit together either really.
2 stars and a team of scrubs might work if they're 2 of the top 3 players in the NBA (a la Heat), but Amare and Melo aren't on that level. They need more help. -

They have plenty of talent, the problem is that their 2 best players play no defense and have no interest in playing it. They need a play making pg in that offense I agree. The ball sticks way too much in Melo's hands just like in Denver.Mulva;1063666 wrote:They need a point guard and a bench a lot more than a new center in my opinion.

Yep, that team is trash.Mulva;1063666 wrote:They need a point guard and a bench a lot more than a new center in my opinion.

I still think it's hilarious how much better Denver is than NYK. Especially since there has been a couple of "exchanges" between Melo and Amar'e.
The Knicks need a lot. It seems Landry Fields has regressed. -

They do. Conley has become a legit PG now that his offense has caught up to defense and passing. He is really playing well.robj55;1063662 wrote:Memphis has a really great core, if they can just figure out how to play Gay and Randolph together they are going to be very good in the future.
Speights has been awesome as a big off the bench/in replace of Randolph. I think they need to get some 3 PT shooting to be a title contender though. I just dont see Conley and Mayo (and Gay on nights when he takes them) being enough from the outside, but maybe. They have no true shooter, and I think that COULD be a downfall in the playoffs. -

I agree, if Tony Allen was a knock down shooter to go along with his great defense then I would love their chances.Laley23;1063672 wrote:They do. Conley has become a legit PG now that his offense has caught up to defense and passing. He is really playing well.

He has regressed because he is not involved anymore, Melo is a great player but he also kills other players on his team. Same thing happened in Denver with Nene and others.hoops23;1063671 wrote:Yep, that team is trash.

hoops23I really like what Memphis has done. Very good core group of players and Mike Conley has turned himself into a legit PG as you can see the work he's put in on his shot.
OJ Mayo seems to be adjusting to coming off the bench (though he struggled a bit tonight)...
I think they're a sleeper in the west -

That's possible, but Fields is shooting around 20% from 3, about 16% lower than last year..robj55;1063674 wrote:He has regressed because he is not involved anymore, Melo is a great player but he also kills other players on his team. Same thing happened in Denver with Nene and others.
He's also shooting 56% from the FT line. Playing 30 MPG and averaging 8 points is pretty bad for a player who was supposed to provide offense.
I know Melo is often times a black hole and that probably doesn't help those #'s. -
MulvaRockets won their 7th straight tonight. Kyle Lowry (most underrated player in the NBA?) with a triple double.
Houston has a hell of an NCAA all-star team. Lowry, Jordan Hill, Patterson, Budinger, Flynn, Terrence Williams, Marcus Morris, and Thabeet. A team full of lottery picks, but most of them have sucked in the NBA.
OKC looks like the best team, but the battle for 2-8 in the west should be a dogfight. -
hoops23Kyle Lowry deserves to be the starting PG in the ASG, if nothing else.
Dude has really came on since the last half of last season. He used to be known as a gritty defender, but somewhat an offensive liability... Now he pulls up from 27 feet and drains 3 pointers lol. -
Azubuike24DeMarcus Cousins 18 and 13. Kings lose. It's like a bad movie that the network shows over and over and over...
-
GOONx19I can't believe people said they wouldn't miss the NBA. I'm loving this year.
-
Azubuike24In Patterson's defense, he is only 22 and in his 2nd year. Only Marcus Morris is younger. Budinger, Thabeet and Hill, agreed, busts. Even Flynn still has some upside.
-
Azubuike24And the Warriors suck too...

I'm glad its back but the overall NBA product has been pretty "sporadic" and down right awful at times because of the lockout and crunched season.GOONx19;1063870 wrote:I can't believe people said they wouldn't miss the NBA. I'm loving this year. -

Hb31187Knicks need a damn point guard more than anything, a pass first point guard. A elite pass first pg(Williams or somebody like that) Melo and Amare would fit together nicely. Wouldnt have the issue the heat have with 2 players with the EXACT same skill set.
Oh well, the Knicks struggling isnt bad for me to see because we raped them in a trade.(Wish Chandler wasnt fucking locked in overseas though, Smith as well) -
Laley23LOL at the Magic last night. So bad, they only wanted to play with 4 players.

Commander of AwesomeThe Knicks spacing is all screwed up. I'll give Melo some credit for attempting to run the point, but he isn't a point forward. I think the lack of a real PG is the reason for Amare's lack of production. His defense is even more of a joke this season, not sure the reasoning behind that.
