Clippers up on the Lakers late in 2nd Qtr. Billups always kills the Lakers he has 13 already.

Sometimes when players get older and past their prime they get worse, its a concept you may be unfamiliar with. Fisher is not as good as he was two years ago They were good enough two years ago to overcome there deficiency at pg. I don't believe that will be true this year. Why do you think kobe badly wanted billups on the lakers this year?

What do ya know...the lakers are getting schooled right now by a team with a fast point guard

Fisher was past his prime in 2009 and 2010.

Yeah, but Pau Gasol wasn't playing like a complete bitch...

Plus Lamar Odom, and Trevor Ariza/Ron Artest played HUGE in the playoffs.

Shannon Brown also provided some nice sparks off the bench.

This team is not a contender this season.

Ok, if you say so. Just so we know who are the contenders and what is the criteria?

Dallas 99-60 over Sac-town tonight. 5 straight wins. Looks like the champs are back on track.

If Odom remembers what basketball is they could be a threat again.

As of right now, I'd say Miami, OKC, Chicago....

LA, Dallas (if Odom continues to play like he cares again), and a couple other teams are a step below.

    Which LA?

Dude has been awful and doesn't even play 20 mins a game. I wouldn't be surprised to see Dallas try and unload him before the deadline.

Lakers put on a run, back in the game down 4, end of 3rd. Kobe with 32. 4th qtr could be interesting.
  • Laley23
Chris Paul making LA his tonight. Solid win for the "home" team Clips. Nice to see this rivalry mean something for once. Would love for the Clippers to actually make some noise out west. I thought they were a top 4 team, pending injuries, so far they are right around it.

    LAC

Of course, if the Lakers somehow manage to get a player like D12, they move into one of those categories...

I'm sorry, but a team playing Kapono, Blake, Fisher, McRoberts, Artest, Morris, and Ebanks is not going to contend for a title this year unless another move is made.

And Kobe goes for 40 again. He's going to be spent by the time the playoffs roll around.

Clippers pretty much dominated the game from the start... Lakers closed within 4, but the Clips just pulled away again.

I hope mwp and fisher retire after the year

the lakers will finally be able to trade luke waltons bum ass next year

Yeah Ok we will see. David Stern and the schedule makers must love the Clippers not only did he make sure Chris Paul went there the Clippers schedule so far has been the easiest of any NBA team by far. They have had only 1 back to back game so far and had 5 different times of 3 days rest in between games. This was just their 9th game. The Lakers meanwhile have had played 4 games in 5 days for the 3rd time this season.

I noticed this yesterday. Its crazy that the Lakers have already played 5 more games than the Clips this early in the season.Just means the Lakers are going 2 get the rest later in the season though.

QQ, you do realize both teams play the same amount of games in the seasom, right? LOL

This right here shows your basketball intelligence. I actually played basketball at the college level and I can tell you it playing a lot of games early puts a lot of wear on your body. Then when it comes time to playoffs you'll be rusty since every other team is playing more often. Kills team chemistry.

Um, cool. I could have played college ball if I wanted to, but im not about to get into some dick measuring contest. They play the same amount of games in the same amount of time. I dont want to hear any excuses. You are acting like the Lakers will have some long layoff that will make them rusty. Well, thats mythical.

You obviously don't understand the wear and tear it puts on you. Don't be surprised when the Lakers are showing the delayed effects.

I wont be surprised because they are an old team, not because their portion of the compacted schedule came at the beginning of the season rather than the end.
