lol, yeah he was definitely stressing that point...Skyhook79;1051832 wrote:Yeah I think I heard Austin Carr say something about Kobe and not resting enough once or maybe it was a 100 times during the game. -

Basketball is a team game, not individual. Kobe didn't win 2 championships back to back, the Lakers did. This help?Skyhook79;1051833 wrote:Well if he doesn't make players better he must have won those 2 Championships by himself. -

So which is it does he make players better or not?robj55;1051839 wrote:Basketball is a team game, not individual. Kobe didn't win 2 championships back to back, the Lakers did. This help? -

SHAQ made Kobe -
robj55
Of course he does, he's one of the best players in the world. My point is he is not a great play maker for his teammates, rather a volume shooter who helps the team more through scoring. People need to get off this,"he won a championship" crap, anyone who has played the game knows that basketball is a team sport and requires 4 others to be successful.Skyhook79;1051842 wrote:So which is it does he make players better or not? -

Pretty sure Joe Bean Bryant did. But I forget how many rings did Shaq have before Kobe came to the Lakers?karen lotz;1051844 wrote:SHAQ made Kobe -

How many times did Kobe lead his team in assists for the season in his 16 years with Lakers?robj55;1051846 wrote:Of course he does, he's one of the best players in the world. FootwedgeWell it's pretty clear that the Heat blows this year.
In James' second to last year with the Cavs, the team never lost 3 in a row...not even in the playoffs. -

He should lead them every year in assists, he has the damn ball in his hand 90% of the game. Doesn't make him a great passer or play maker. Similar to AI, never a great or willing passer but when you have the ball in your hands the whole game you are going to get assists.Skyhook79;1051849 wrote:How many times did Kobe lead his team in assists for the season in his 16 years with Lakers? -

No he doesn't not even close to that. No one in the triangle has the ball that much.robj55;1051853 wrote:He should lead them every year in assists, he has the damn ball in his hand 90% of the game. He has the ball in his hands more than anyone on the team, and he is not a great passer or playmaker. But that's okay because he's a great shot maker.Skyhook79;1051856 wrote:No he doesn't not even close to that. No one in the triangle has the ball that much. -

Think that has a lot to do with Wade being in and out of the lineup. He's the leader of that team. Heard he's had plantar fasciitis. That shit lingers and doesn't really go away. Trust me, I know. It's excrutiating on your feet. All I do is train with weights and do some cardio. Can't imagine how brutal it would be on a NBA player.Footwedge;1051852 wrote:Well it's pretty clear that the Heat blows this year.

If they have to rely on #6 to be their "leader" down the stretch, they are screwed because we all know he follows, not leads. -
wes_mantoothDidn't watch any of the game last night, but it is nice to see the Cavs hang in there with the Lakers...on the road. I mean, I think the Lakers are probably not title contenders anymore, but still a pretty decent team...so that is a good showing for the Cavs.

Yeah. It looked like it was going to be a blowout in the 1st half but the Cavs did a good job getting back into it. As long as Kyrie and TT play good games I'm happywes_mantooth;1051910 wrote:Didn't watch any of the game last night, but it is nice to see the Cavs hang in there with the Lakers...on the road. I was impressed with Irving he can play, not sold on Thomas yet, but why does he not get more minutes? The Lakers are a contender, I think they will finish with a 2-3 seed but they have to get much better/consistent bench play.wes_mantooth;1051910 wrote:Didn't watch any of the game last night, but it is nice to see the Cavs hang in there with the Lakers...on the road. The lakers are not a top 4 team right now, therefore I dont think they are a true contender, they need an upgrade at the pg for me to consider them a contender -

6th best record in the league might be what he meant. If so, IMO, you have to move them past Philly, I don't see the Sixers staying at the top for the whole season(maybe division title yes, but not top 5 in the league). Same with the Pacers.Skyhook79;1051930 wrote:They are the 2 seed right now. -

Agree with Sixers. Disagree with Pacers. But I dont think either are built for the playoffs.sportswizuhrd;1052047 wrote:6th best record in the league might be what he meant. MulvaI could see the Sixers and Pacers both hanging up there. Depth is huge this season with all of the back-to-backs and stuff, and they're 2 of the more balanced teams around.

The season is still way early to talk about playoff seeding, but they have the 5th best record over all so far. I like the bulls, heat, thunder, nuggets, blazers better right now. I just don't see them winning a title this year without a better point guard.
If they upgrade their pg situation they would for sure be a contender and maybe the favorite -
Skyhook79
They haven't upgraded the PG position since Magic Johnson left and that was 5 Titles ago. They need more help from the bench to win the Title this year.gport_tennis;1052188 wrote:The season is still way early to talk about playoff seeding, but they have the 5th best record over all so far. I'm not talking last year(which by the way they did not win the title last year), I'm talking aBout this year. This year they will not win the title with fisher and Blake running the point. I'm not a lakers hater, kobe is my favorite player. -

They didn't have a good pg in 2009 or 2010 and they won the Title both times.gport_tennis;1052727 wrote:I'm not talking last year(which by the way they did not win the title last year), I'm talking aBout this year.
