You are forgetting DeyDurkie's 99% thought process.

Flacco and Dalton are not pretty good. Average at best and its too early to really evaluate Dalton.

If it means improving other areas of immediate need..then yes I would be fine with going with mccoy for 2012. if he sucks the first couple games, put in seneca and look to add a qb in the draft to learn behind him. I get what you are saying br, and we just don't see eye to eye on it which is fine. I just think more areas of our team need to be bulstered before we dump mccoy and move on.

They can do BOTH with little effort.

I look for Heckert to be more active in free agency. If he were strictly using the draft and nothing more I might lean more toward your way of thinking.

I just think the upcoming drafts have a bunch of mediocre QB's and they don't need that. They already have it in McCoy.

THey are going to get some good FA's. Which I am definitely excited about. If we can somehow get our core areas of need(OL, DE, LB) and then go after WR's in FA and maybe a corner, we would be good to go. If mccoy, with all this in place of course, sucks ass next year, then I'll admit you were right and i was wrong. But it's just way to early to tell on him imo.

I think they may have already made their decision on him (McCoy). His daddy did him no favors by embarrassing the franchise by whining to the media. Don't think Holmgren, with his ego, is fond of being embarassed. On the flip side, that "ego" might also prevent Holmgren from cutting ties with McCoy but I doubt it.

Big difference between your example and what I posted. Eli Manning DOES pose a problem for opposing defenses. McCoy does not.
Not picking and choosing anything. You're the one who said it, I'm just asking a question based off that.

Is the worst pro bowl QB a bad QB?

No, S&L but Colt McCoy is NOT Eli Manning.

You ARE picking and choosing because you omitted the part about "no opposing defenses fearing McCoy."

Opposing defenses FEAR Eli Manning. Even IF he played for the Browns and WAS the "worst' QB in the division he'd STILL be feared by opposing defenses and they'd have to game plan for him.

Opposing defenses only have to stack the box and dare McCoy to beat them over the top with his arm, which he can't and they know he won't.

Opposing defenses don't fear the weapons around Colt. So they can stack the box and play 1 on 1 w/ their corners. Until we have WRs that can actually beat a defender, McCoy will continue to look bad.

I'm not saying he's some allpro QB. Mywhole point is we can save a draft pick to take a weapon (instead of a new QB) and build around McCoy. We don't know if McCoy is bad, and if he is bad...you can just draft a QB w/ weapons already around him. It's a lot easier to draft a franchise QB than it is to draft great receivers, TEs, and an o-line around him.

They don't fear him because he can't stretch the field with an accurate pass.

Doesn't matter, imo, if he had Mike Wallace & Antonio Brown (both burners) stretching the field. He couldn't get them the ball consistently. They'd have to wait for one of his "floaters" to come down just like Cribbs & Little do. Having him at QB in that situation would be the equivalent of jacking off while wearing a rubber....a WASTE of time.

I've seen him make accurate throws..you're a Colt hater so you see a few bad passes and assume that's the way they all are. Selective viewer. It's pure bias.

He has no weapons, do you understand how hard it is to be a QB in this league with WRs that can't get open on their own? Not even Aaron Rodgers is 100% accurate on every throw. He has great weapons that can get so open they can catch a poor thrown ball.

You're blaming Colt for not being 100% accurate on every throw..it's pathetic really. Really fucking pathetic.

    Bullshit !

McCoy has tried that throw that Wallace completed the 79 yard TD to Little on a few times this year and it's been picked. No WAY he can make that throw.

Wallace throws it...it has zip, Little catches it, etc. McCoy throws that, Little has to wait for the floater to come down, the defender adjusts and it gets picked. Anything less than 15 yards on a pass for McCoy is a "close your eyes & pray crapshoot."

That was one example but we've seen it all year. If McCoy has to throw anything significantly down the field into ANY type of window you might as well forget it. This limits the offense and helps the defense cheat up to the LOS. And that's NOT on the WR's. That's on the QB not being a vertical threat with his arm.

Call me a "hater' all you want but I'm not the ONLY one who sees this. There are a shit ton of analysts who see the SAME thing and I'd bet Heckert & Holmgren do too.

Lol I could literally care less what you think of McCoy..I just think it's hilarious how much you hate him.

*Insert "I don't hate him!! I just don't think he can make a 100% accurate throw every time!" rebuttal here*

Put weapons around McCoy...watch what happens.
