Windy says Sessions to Lakers for LA's 2012 1st round pick, according to Adrian Wojnarowski

Cleveland will get the Lakers 2012 first-round pick in the Ramon Sessions trade, league source tells Y! Brian Windhorst 1st reported deal.
  • lhslep134
    I'm down with that.

#Cavs have traded Ramon Sessions to Lakers. Deal also sends Eyenga to Lakers for 2012 1st rounder (top 14 protected) and Luke Walton

Deal is Sessions and Eyenga for 2012(top 14 protected) #1 and Luke Walton

Ah I really liked Eyenga's athleticism, but I like this trade.
  • Wooball
I'll take that deal. Sessions was likely to walk at the end of the year. Load up picks in this draft is a solid decision.

Whats the word on Walton's salary? How long/how much?
  • grodt
I think I saw it's this year and next. $5.6 this year and $6.1 next
  • lhslep134
Let's not forget that we also have the Hornets 2nd rounder so we'll have 3 picks in the first 34ish.

I'd expect a buyout and possible retirement for Walton

    From WFNYKirk:

Cavs would currently have 8th, 25th, 33rd, and 38th picks in the draft..

You'd think they will try to use some combination of those last 3 picks to move back into the lottery this year.

Apparently we'll be getting Jason Kapono as well.

Wow I hadn't realized how much his production had gone in the shitter. He used to be a great 3-point specialist

    Exactly.

Cavs have done a great job at setting themselves up for this draft.

    Walton will likely retire.

Yep. I dont think they will be able to get it done with the picks alone but if they are willing to take on another bad contract (and you know Gilbert is) they could def get back into the lottery. Focus on N.O and try to get one of those picks

Not that it really matters, but who backs up Kyrie for the rest of the season? Boobie?

My guess is that they'll sign a D-leaguer/free agent.
