Cleveland Cavaliers 11-12 season thread
-
bigdaddy2003I'm sure I'm in the minority on this subject but I thought I'd ask anyways. I watch every Cavs game but I wouldn't categorize myself as a die hard fan like some and there is one thing that bothers me. Am I the only person on here who doesn't think Varejao should be the starting center?
-
sleeperVarejao is our second best player behind Irving. But he's not a starting center, he's a great 6th man(should be 6th man of the year for the 13th straight year).
-
Y-Town SteelhoundThere's simply no better option for the Cavs right now at center so Varejao has to start.

I disagree. I think Samuels plays more like a center than Varejao does. It was nice when Varejao came off the bench and provided the 6th man energy.Y-Town Steelhound;1069172 wrote:There's simply no better option for the Cavs right now at center so Varejao has to start. -
Crimson streakMaybe that's why they are interested in kaman?
-
Commander of AwesomeSamuels has a better back to the basket offensive game, but outside of that, Varejao is better in every other aspect.
-
bigdaddy2003Well to me Varejao doesn't do a lot on the defensive side. A lot of times I see him out covering guards and then he has to run to the hoop to get back on his man.

No. And I also don't think there's any way you can start him and Thompson together.bigdaddy2003;1069165 wrote:Am I the only person on here who doesn't think Varejao should be the starting center? -

You mean hedging on screens? Every big man does that, like they're supposed to. Andy brings energy, rebounds fairly well, takes charges, etc. does the little things that a lot of guys don't do. Like others have said, he's the best option they have right now.bigdaddy2003;1069204 wrote:Well to me Varejao doesn't do a lot on the defensive side. hoops23I'll take Varejao 7 days a week over Chris Kaman
-
Pick6Is Gibson hurt? Dont think I have seen him in the game tonight.
Cant stress enough how tired I am of Byron sitting Kyrie half of the 4th quarter and not putting him back in until the opposing team pulls away. -
Crimson streakHe doesn't want to wear him out right now. He barely played last year and with the lock out he's not completely in game shape I'm actually ok with it. We're not making the playoffs so why push him and get him injuried
-
grodtGibson has a stiff neck.
Andy with 18 and 8. Played a great game overall, especially late here. KI also played well with 21 and 6. -
Pick6KYRIE.

TigerNation10What a game!
-
KR1245Kyrie is a f#cking stud. I'm really enjoying this season, this team doesn't quit
-
hoops23Was watching with some friends and we knew Kyrie would hit te game winning shot as that game was winding down.
Then when he did, we all pretty much said "LeBron would have settled for a terrible jumper there". -
KR1245Gotta give alot of credit to Gee, the guy is limited when it comes to natural talent but he's busting his ass out there.
-
sleeperIrving is very very good. He's going to be a top 5 PG in 1 or 2 more years, I guarantee it.
The better question is, can we keep him? -
Commander of AwesomeToo early to get into that debate IMO.

Check out his dad at the bottom of the screen.. Jumps out of his seat and runs a little down the sideline lol -

I just don't think he should be the starting center. His high energy level at 6th man was much better in my opinion. It's cool if the rest of the fan base likes him but to think he is a starting center and that should be on the all star team (Mike Snyder said it the other night on WTAM) is a little much to me. Just my opinion.Jester;1069269 wrote:You mean hedging on screens? Every big man does that, like they're supposed to. You serious? He's averaging nearly 10 PPG and almost 14 RPG...bigdaddy2003;1069681 wrote:I just don't think he should be the starting center. They posted the #'s today during the game about All Star reserve centers and Andy definitely has a case. He leads the NBA in ORPG and is one of the reasons Cleveland is actually playing very decent basketball.
