Kenny Wallace on Race Hub on Speed says his transmission seized and locked his rear wheels. Juan said his rear end was vibrating funny everytime he would hit the gas. He said he told his spotter to watch his car when it made a sharp right up the banking and crashed into the jet dryer. Glad no one was hurt.

More than 60 vehicles were wrecked in the five NASCAR events during Speedweeks, and the crashes started on the second lap Monday.
    Neg's to Michael Helton.

That's about all you need to see. I still can't believe Biffle didn't pull out and let Junior push him. They would have blown right by Kenseth and then it would have been between Junior and Biffle. Granted, Junior probably would have slingshot past him on the final turn, but Biffle had zero chance of winning just staying tucked in behind Kenseth like that. Teammate or not, it's the fucking Daytona 500. Screw being a good teammate.

This. Biffle pissed me fuck off... Jr. had a rocket ship and was up Biffle's ass for every bit of those 2 laps, but Biffle chose to toe the company line because it eliminated all possibility of a non-Roush car winning (as you said, Jr. may have run by them both had Biffle went with him).

Wow. Chad Knaus and Car Chief Ron Malec has been suspended for 6 races. Knaus has also been fined $100,000.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- NASCAR has issued penalties, suspensions and fines to the No. 48 team in the Sprint Cup Series, as a result of rules infractions found on Feb. 17 during opening day inspection for the Daytona 500.

The No. 48 car was found to be in violation of Sections 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing); 12-4J (any determination by NASCAR officials that race equipment used in the event does not conform to NASCAR rules detailed in Section 20 of the rule book or has not been approved by NASCAR prior to the event); and 20-2.1E (if in the judgment of NASCAR officials, any part or component of the car not previously approved by NASCAR that has been installed or modified to enhance aerodynamic performance will not be permitted -- unapproved car body modifications).

As a result, crew chief Chad Knaus and car chief Ron Malec have been suspended from the next six Sprint Cup Series championship events, suspended from NASCAR until April 18 and placed on NASCAR probation until May 9. Additionally, Knaus has been fined $100,000.

Driver Jimmie Johnson and car owner Jeff Gordon have been penalized with the loss of 25 driver and 25 owner points, respectively.

Knaus has received 6 races before, so I thought that was light.

Due to Jimmie's lap 2 crash and the new points system, he's now the first driver in history to have negative points.

Knaus is the dirtiest player in the game.

I think that Michael Waltrip was "in the hole" in points a season or two ago.
  • GoChiefs
Correct. I believe it was 2007 when he was docked 100 points for the "substance" they found in his intake manifold before the Daytona 500.

Yea the whole substance found in the manifold thing. I forgot about that. Good thing you noted...err noticed.

Penske will be switching from Dodge back to Ford in 2013. That leaves the only Dodge car as of right now to be...Robby Gordon. With his team up for sale, who knows if it will be around next year either. Maybe no Dodge product in NASCAR in 2013? Unreal.

article said- "According to the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, detectives found 40 firearms, 1 1/2 grams of meth and a number of items that had been stolen from Lee Boy Inc. and Larry Grant, Inc., a trucking company in Lincolnton"

I bet he stole the meth' from the trucking company. All those long haul drivers are tweekers.
