Please realize I knew you were joking at #1 and was in fact joking myself. -
Pick6
The media going off on him when the Cowboys lose doesnt make him a bum.Hb31187;981950 wrote:Romo is a bum
Same record, way better stats than Ryan this season. -
BigAppleBuckeye
He HAD 7, plus 2 more today. Newton is having a monster season, whether or not you want to admit it. Kid has almost 3,000 passing yards and more than 400 rushing yards on a terrible team.Pick6;981941 wrote:According to ESPN, he only has 7, and I like how you conveniently leave out his 5 fumbles lost.
If you think rushing directly correlates to how good a QB is, give me Tim Tebow. -

Oh, well if it isnt updated yet, then add 4 interceptions to his stats.BigAppleBuckeye;981956 wrote:He HAD 7, plus 2 more today. Newton is having a monster season, whether or not you want to admit it. Kid has almost 3,000 passing yards and more than 400 rushing yards on a terrible team.
BLAH BLAH BLAH about this terrible team. He has a very good offensive supporting cast for being the #1 overall pick. Oh wait, he has no running game? Stewart and Williams had 212 yards combined today.
I bet Andy Dalton and Tim Tebow wouldnt mind having guys like Steve Smith, Olsen, and Shockey to throw too. -

I didnt say Ryan was better did I? Just that Romo is not half as good as people seem to make him out to bePick6;981955 wrote:The media going off on him when the Cowboys lose doesnt make him a bum.

Aside from this year, hes had 1 other good year, but people put him top 7 in terms of QB? -

2. Brady
3. Roethlisberger
4. Brees
5. Eli Manning
6. Schaub
7. Vick -
BearBoy69Peyton would be my 2 by since he is hurt I will exclude him.
1. Aaron Rodgers- obviously. Dudes a beast right now
2. Big Ben- can make nothing into something. Above Brady because he went toe to toe with him and WON
3. Brady- not as good as he was when he won 3 super bowls. See above
4. Drew brees- past his prime
5. Matt Ryan- knows how to win ball games
6. Cam newton- puts up crazy stats. Imagine what he'd do with a good team!
7. Eli manning- because he is better than all the other quarterbacks not in top 7 -

Thanks for the early monday morning lulz4. Drew brees- past his prime -
IliketurtlesWho is the Bearboy69 guy? It is gibby he sounds about as dumb as gibby. Here is my list if Peyton was playing he'd be my #2.
1)Rodgers
2)Brady
3)Brees
4)Big Ben
5)Romo
6)Eli
7)Schaub -
rydawg51. Aaron Rogers
2. Tom Brady
3. Drew Brees
4. Peyton Manning
5. Big Ben
6. Phillip Rivers
7. Vick or Romo -
Fly4FunMy ranking is ACTUALLY based on performance this season, not past... and anyone who is injured for the remaining season doesn't make the list (Schaub is out as well as Manning)
1. Aaron Rodgers
2. Tom Brady (Normally Peyton would be here if not #1, except Rodgers is playing out of his mind right now)
3. Drew Brees
4. Eli Manning
5. Tony Romo
6. Alex Smith (I know, it seems weird, but take a look at his stats for the season)
7. Matt Stafford
On the Outside looking in:
Matt Ryan, Jay Cutler, Philip Rivers, Big Ben
Best Rookie: Andy Dalton followed closely by Cam Newton (who doesn't seem to be progressing). -
j_crazyVick is not a top 15 QB.
-
HereticI'd like to know why people are talking about either Romo or Newton. One chokes in every big game he's in, while the other is an unproven rookie who's still very up and down. If either is in a top 7 list, the overall state of QBs utterly sucks.
-
IliketurtlesF4F not a bad list and I agree that Alex Smith is in the discussion but I'd Big Ben over him and move him below Stafford.
Here are the stats for the 3:
Smith- 171/274(62.4%), 1976yds, 13TDs, 4INT, 1 Fumble, 122 Rushing Yards
Big Ben- 224/354(63.3%), 2877yds, 16TDs, 9INT, 62 Rushing Yards
Stafford- 244/398(61.3%), 2843yds, 25TDs, 10INT, 1 Fumble, 33 Rushing Yards
And I don't get how people still have Vick in their top 7 but hey its their opinion. -
Fly4FunThe reason I have him up above those two is the lack of turnovers. Turnovers are very important in football and HUGE in the NFL when the talent level is relatively close and evenly spread. His lack of turnovers while still remaining productive (but not the most yards) is a reason why the 49's are one of the top teams.
Harbaugh has done a great job in transforming that team.
Also, I hate Romo... and if I was starting a team and the other 6 on that list were not available, I would still probably pick one of the other QB's over him (such as Matt Ryan, Big Ben, or even Dalton).
But from a regular season performance based on this year... he's doing pretty well. -
Commander of Awesome
Excuse me while I LMAO. There were a redraft in the NFL of the entire player pool and they did a QB round, Alex Smith wouldn't go in the top 15, maybe not even top 20. Way to be that guy.Fly4Fun;982175 wrote: 6. Alex Smith (I know, it seems weird, but take a look at his stats for the season)

Terry_TateAlex Smith is having a great year, but by no means is he a top 7 QB, and highly likely not top 10. He's having such a great year because they're not asking him to do anything big. There's a reason he has 900 less passing yards than Roethlisberger and Stafford, because Harbaugh knows he won't win if he asks Alex Smith to to try throw for 300 yards. He's having a great year yes, but he's still not a top 10 qb.
-
Fly4FunFor the doubters... look at his stats compared to other QB's.
I think some people are putting too much emphasis on yards. TD/TO ratio is VERY important for winning games... more so than yards (look at Cam Newton/Panthers). -
Terry_TateNo doubt the TD/TO is very important, but when you can win games by running the football and playing great defense and you have a QB that has historically not been that good, why would you trust him to throw downfield when you can win games by minimizing his play? Smith has done a great job with what they've asked him to do, but he wouldn't be having near this year statistically if he played for Detroit, or Green Bay, or Cincinnati, or Houston. He's thrown for 201 yards or less in 7 of the 10 games this year and only has 2 passes of over 40 yards all year, which is tied for 26th as far as QBs go. He's having a great year and nobody would deny that, but it's honestly laughable to have him over Stafford and Big Ben, among others.
-
SpeedofsandI'm very happy to see Andy Dalton playing well in Jay Gruden's offense. Jay was my reason to watch the Bengals again this year after awhile not caring.

Brady is still the best in the game despite the fact that his team isn't doing as well as the Pack. Roethlisberger is NOT better than Brady. They've gone toe to toe before and Tom Brady has dominated the Steelers. Also, if Brady had the weapons on offense that Rodgers had he'd probably be putting up the same numbers. Remember 2007??BearBoy69;982003 wrote:Peyton would be my 2 by since he is hurt I will exclude him.

Vick - as a player, not a QB. Tries to make too much happen in big games and screws it up. Will never win a SB. -

I agree. Ranking Ben above Brady for that reason is using a "you're only as good as your last head-to-head matchup" logic...which is flawed IMO. Brady has beat Ben in matchups numerous times prior to this season. I can see someone arguing that Ben is playing better than Brady this season....but not using his logic.
