Browns catching a break... Sounds like Carlos Dunlap will not play Sunday
  • bigdaddy2003
I see this like most of the other Browns' games. The D will keep them in it but the offense won't do much to capitalize. I see something like 17 - 13 for the Bengals.

Well, well, well....look who may be back afterall....

BEREA, Ohio (AP) — Browns running back Peyton Hillis is ready to make his return after missing six straight games with a hamstring injury.
Hillis practiced Friday for the first time since Nov. 4 and may play on Sunday at Cincinnati. Hillis first got hurt on Oct. 16 in Oakland and was poised to return three weeks ago before he aggravated the hamstring during practice. Earlier this week, Browns coach Pat Shurmur ruled Hillis out for this week's game, but Hillis is now a game-time decision against the Bengals.
Hillis' second season with the Browns has been loaded with drama. He expressed disappointment at not getting a contract extension and missed one game with strep throat on the advice of his agent.

Hillis really wants to play. Now. He opens up

    Nov 25th, 2011 @ 1:48 pm by Steve Doerschuk

Peyton Hillis said his head isn’t all over the place and that calling his ordeal a nightmare is “way too dramatic.”
He says his meeting with Browns veterans was “very professional” and that talk about a rift between teammates and him is “hearsay.”
“Me and the guys are fine,” he said.
He wants to play at Cincinnati. he sounds invigorated about his progress from his hamstring injury.
He said he was injected with “a PRP shot” about three weeks ago that is supposed to promote healing, and did. He laughed when asked to explain what a PRP shot is, saying he only knows it involves using the injectee’s own blood.
    • Pat Shurmur said in no uncertain terms when all the backs are healthy that the pecking order is 1, Hillis; 2, Hardesty; 3, Ogbonnaya.
Shurmur saiod playing Hillis will be “a game-day decision.”
    • Mike Hanke used to tell me that it’s “champing at the bit,” not chomping. From what I gathered, Hillis is champing, champing and salivating about facing Cincinnati.
“It’s looking very positive for this game,” he said.
He wouldn’t necessarily start in his first game back after five on the shelf, Shurmur said, but again, Shurmur made it clear later that Hillis is No. 1, when he’s healthy.
Today was his first practice since Nov. 4. It was a fairly full practice.
    • Playoffs? Yes, Hillis talked about playoffs.
“We’re in a race right now,” he said. “If we can win out, that would be a really great thing for us.”

I'm thinking that all of the Browns RB's must be healthy, or close to it, in that they released backup Thomas Clayton today.

The Browns have been hit with the injury bug (or pussy bug in Hillis' case) all year.

I think the Bengals win this one 24-13.
  • Enforcer
Gonna be a wet one today, it gives the Browns a chance

    Bengals 20-17

I could see the Browns pulling the upset but I'll say the Bengals escape with the close win.

Actually, I think I've been more impressed with the Bengals the past two weeks in losing to the Steelers and Ravens than I was with their 6-2 record.

Dalton showed some grit bringing the team back when they got down in both games.

Love the rain games almost as much as snow. Should be a lower scoring affair. Bengals 17-13

    Bengals inactives: DE C. Dunlap; TE D. Lee; G C. Boling; S R. Sands; WR R. Whalen; LB D. Moch; T A. Collins

I look for Hayden to be pumped for this matchup.

Having AJ back is key... Even if he don't catch a lot of balls, just having the secondary pay a lot of attention to him frees up Caldwell, Simpson, Hawkins & Gresham over the middle.
  • iclfan2
Reports are the field is in pretty bad shape. Browns have all 3 rb's active.
  • BR1986FB
Gresham is the biggest concern. Browns can't cover a TE to save their lives.

Rain possibly will play a factor in the passing games in this one.

So with Hillis, Hardesty and Obi all active who is starting and how do you think the carries will be split up?

AKA Fantasy Nightmare...I'd think with the weather they will all get 8+ touches if healthy enough.
  • BR1986FB
Hillis would likely be the starter...wouldn't see Oby getting a lot of work if Hillis/Hardesty are ready. Shurmur has already said when they come back it's Hillis/Hardesty/Oby in that order...
  • osu45804
    From Joe Reedy:

browns Hardesty didn't feel good in pregame warmups (calf). Will play if needed
  • BR1986FB
Interesting....Marecic among the Browns inactives. Could we see some Hillis at FB today? I know they've been working Alex Smith at FB....hopefully they don't try to give him the ball again.
  • zach24oz
It wouldnt be that bad if they Had Hillis in at FB...having both in the game at the same time to have them both be options either running or catching the ball out of the backfield. I think it will be a low scoring, defensive game with the weather looking like it's going to be a messy game. CLE 17-14

Holy shit, there is no one there

    Cuz their fans suck.

the o line is actually holding their own so far.
  • iclfan2
Hillis sighting. First down. Could we see a 1st Q TD for the first time this season? Oh and the Browns are now 0-11 on the coin toss.
  • shook_17
its nice having our powerback back. 3rd n 1 and pushes the pile.
