Week 12: Cleveland Browns @ Cincinnati Bengals

Actually BR, I agree we don't know if Colt is the guy. And it is imperative that they know going into this draft. I think he's shown improvement at times, but than does things like that stupid pick today. But, you have to take into consideration the weapons he has, or doesn't have. We do know he doesn't have a great arm. That's something else to consider. And the dropped passes today kept him from having a damn good day. IMO Probably 7 0r 8 more completions and 60 to 70 yards.

Ugly game for my Bengals, but I'll take the win. Can't be picky.

LOL. That's the first I've seen it but that's hilarious. Would make the Italian soccer team proud.

Either he has super powers that he's not using to win us games... or the Bengals teach a course in flopping.

Not much to say about this game.....

first half Browns executed....second half we lost that killer instict to put the game away and ended up giving it away.

what's new....is it sad I wasn't even surprised we gave the game up?

Nope. I knew it was coming as well.

What I didn't understand, and I mentioned it earlier, is if Hillis is getting 5-7 yards on first down WHY do they have to get cute and pass on 2nd? The Bengals weren't really stopping him. And why do you PITCH the ball to a 300 lb tank when handing it to him is the best path to success? It's like Shurmur thinks 'well....the Bengals probably expect us to run again so we'll REALLY throw them off by passing here."
  • Commander of Awesome
To be fair Hillis averaged less than 4 yds a carry. He did seem to abandon the run there though towards the end of the second through the 3rd. There are too many things to point to as to why this team blew it.

Also this game I really focused on Andre Smith and let me just say, lol. What a monumental bust of a pick he was for the Bungals. Good thing the refs were letting the boys play, otherwise he would have been flagged on every play. I've never seen a player have to hold so much. He sucks.

surprise surprise, hardesty doesn't play. Story of the game though was the absolute awful play callin in the second half. 10 point lead, run the ball. plain and simple. Sucks, but that's the way this season is going for us. Oh well, on to the next loss

Yeah I don't understand why pat abandoned the run smh. Passing on first down was annoying.

The thing that was annoying was gaining 5-7 yards per carry on 1st down and then feeling the need to throw on 2nd. There's no shame in getting 1st downs with 2-3 runs.

It's like Shurmur is trying to outsmart himself by doing something that isn't needed. Run until they can't stop it. And don't even get me started on the inability to run an effective screen play when the Bengals were sending the house...

I was bitching just a few weeks ago about Pat only running it on first down and not having creative play calling.
  • BR1986FB
He's been back & forth. At the beginning of the year, first play of the game was a pass....then he switched it up where first play of the game was always a run. He's too predictable. He needs to evolve a bit and this Tressel Ball shit (playing for FG's) HAS to go. I saw that clusterfuck/meltdown botched FG at the end of the game coming a MILE away.

FG would have been much easier if Little could catch the fucking ball.

    Tru Dat

Speaking of Little, 92.3 said they noticed McCoy didn't have as much 'zip" (as if he EVER has any) on the ball in the 2nd half as he did in the first. They thought he was "soft tossing" to try to help Braylon Jr hold onto a pass or two.

On the FG, though, there's no way Dawson would've made that kick even if the hold was good. The wind was blowing straight back at them; it would've taken 5-7 yards off it. We should've punted.

I think Dawson told Shurmur he was "good" from that distance since he was hitting 61 yarders from that distance at that end in warmups. The wind may have picked up though.

He might've been, I didn't get there in time to see them warming up. I just know the flags were blowing pretty damn hard back at him. Still, Greg Little.
  • BR1986FB
Yeah, Little needs to shake this off. I hope he's not another Braylon/Quincy Morgan type.

As was previously mentioned, he needs to sack up and face the media after games like this instead of tucking tail and sneaking out the back door.

Bengals have won an incredible 12 out of the last 15 over the Browns. Who Dey. Have the Steelers dominated the Browns this badly during the same stretch? Ravins?

Umm, yeah. Except for the win against the Steelers a few years ago the Browns hadn't beaten them since 2003. Considering how sad the Browns have been, it's not all that "incredible."

    Lol at "Ravins."
