Commander of AwesomeDisappointing loss for sure. No doubt Shurmur played not to lose. Has to learn from this.

Shurmur hasn't learned shit since the season began.Commander of Awesome;971333 wrote:Disappointing loss for sure. No doubt Shurmur played not to lose. Has to learn from this. -

Just goes to show the faith Shurmur has in McCoy in clutch situations, imo. Play action on that first down would've been nice.SportsAndLady;971155 wrote:3 running plays in a row lol throw the ball you fuckin pussy (shurmur)
I liked the fact that he was a bit more creative using Cribbs, Wallace and actually having McCoy attempt a deep ball. Team still sucks though. -

yeah, that is the scariest thing about this team.like_that;971349 wrote:Shurmur hasn't learned shit since the season began. -

He may be the most arrogant coach in the history of Cleveland sports.wes_mantooth;971400 wrote:yeah, that is the scariest thing about this team.
You'd think he thinks he's Bill Walsh or the Hoodie the way he talks about the system and his process. -
BR1986FBThing that probably disappointed me most about this game was the Browns lack of pass rush. Rams O-Line is horrible and except for the sack by Taylor, Bradford had all day to throw.

He hired Shurmur too.iclfan2;971299 wrote:Holmgren must be stealing paychecks these days. WTF has he done while here? Hired Heckert? -
zach24ozThe offense didnt look all that bad until they got within the redzone and then they decided to play Tressel ball and settle for FGs instead of trying for the endzone. Disappointing way to end it for sure...But the last 2 play calls on that last drive were terrible! A no gain on first down and then a TE handoff that almost resulted in a turnover...why in the world would you hand the ball off to a TE out of everyone on the field? Just shows that the team doesn't know how to win ball games yet.

OQBlulz at the browns....I called the missed kick at the end of the game.

I think the correct phrase is "factory of sadness".

shook_17shurmur playing not to lose. what a joke. when phil lined up to kick that field goal i just had a feeling there sitting in my seats. throw the damn ball and lets win this game with a touchdown. this is whats happens when you play not to lose. if we don't win next week we will not win another game the rest of the year.

gotta love Bruce! -
doghouse rileyAbsolute joke of an organization. Everyone from Lerner on down should be ashamed of themselves for trying to pass this off as a professional sports team. They are blatantly ripping off the fans. Lets call today's game what it was. Completely unwatchable and mind-numbingly boring.
Of course the NFL product hasn't been the same since the last tv deal. Too many commercials and games are disjointed as hell. It's bad enough the Browns are complete garbage, but for my money (which they will get none of) the entire league has gone downhill. -

Dr Winston O'BoogiePros:
Good defense
Opened up the playbook a bit
The 28th string tailback actually had guts
Cons:
Still too much Tressel in the playbook
Way too many holding penalties
Boring, boring game -
WriterbuckeyeI have to give it up to the Browns. They find more creative ways to blow games than any team I've ever seen. In all my years of watching football, I've never seen (in the same drive) a handoff to a TE who has never had a handoff in his playing life, and a center have a leg spasm right as the ball is being hiked, so it knocks the whole play off kilter.
If it weren't a Browns game, it could pass for a Monty Python skit. -

+1...not that the defense did all that bad.Thing that probably disappointed me most about this game was the Browns lack of pass rush. Rams O-Line is horrible and except for the sack by Taylor, Bradford had all day to throw.
Offernsively, it just seemed they were playing for field goals all day long.
The opening series defines this offense...on 3rd and 2 they throw a 1 yard pass. WTF??? -

FootwedgeWhat makes it worse...I think the Rams had half their players carted off the field.
-
BR1986FBOn the botched FG, Dawson said that he thought there was going to be a flag thrown on the defense for jumping. Mack reacted by bringing his right foot behind Pontriand's left leg (standard procedure so the long snapper doesn't get blown into the backfield), the snap hit Mack's leg and the rest is history. Sounds like Mack was reacting to movement by the Rams D thus thinking the ball had already been snapped. Either way, still sucks.

Yep. When their O-Lineman went down I'm thinking "oh boy, bring the heat" yet the pass rush never came.Footwedge;972021 wrote:What makes it worse...I think the Rams had half their players carted off the field. -
se-alumThe Browns have set themselves up nicely for a top 2-3 pick. They only have one winnable game left on the schedule, but Jacksonville has a pretty good defense and MJD, so that's probably a loss.

Arizona is also a possibility. Not likely, but possible.se-alum;972234 wrote:The Browns have set themselves up nicely for a top 2-3 pick. They only have one winnable game left on the schedule, but Jacksonville has a pretty good defense and MJD, so that's probably a loss.
