Ron Washington about to be in back-to-back WS. He is the best manager in baseball. Bar. None.

    I love Jacques Cousteau

Not sure if they are still the "Hooters with Food" that they used to be. But I was in love with 1 of the girls there for about 3 years haha.

I think the scenery is better at the Pburg location.

Probably now. There was no PBurg when I was in HS though.

The luckiest man in baseball. Probably the worst pitcher in the league over the 1995-1999 stretch, but instead of doing what I would do and saying "This guy fucking blows. Cut him" the Twins went with the "Let's try him in the bullpen instead" route, and somehow he's hung on for more than another decade.

Darren Oliver is 41, came up in 1993 and has pitched for 8 teams. LaTroy Hawkins is 38, came up in 1995 and has also pitched for 8 teams.

Name the two teams that both players have pitched for.

    Reps for the winner.

Doesn't it seem like even good relievers always play for 3-4 teams? A lot of attrition in the bullpen.

Rare exception is a guy like Rivera.

I feel like they think they can get more money with another team, and the team who had them for a solid year doesnt think they are worth it or want to upgrade elsewhere. Even if they consistently are very good bullpen guys.
  • chicago510
Yeah it seems like teams are always looking for bullpen help, but not a lot of pay big money for relievers. A guy like Krod will probably be on his 4th team by next year.

BP guys have up and down years....always a lot of turnover.

Huge win for the Cards. They continue to impress me, thats 2 wins without Carp at his best this playoffs.

Young puts the Tigers ahead in the must-win game 5.

Turned it on just in time for that double play. Good bounce back. Is 1 run enough for Verlander? No Beniot or Valverde in the pen tonight.

so much for that dude being injured. kind of seems silly now that the tigers originally left him off the alcs roster

Eh I dunno, have you seen him move in the outfield or any of his other swings in the series before that HR?

it was just a weird situation for the tigers. i think i'd be more apt to leave door slightly ajar and hope he recovers well enough for later in the series rather than completely shut the door on not having my no. 3 hitter for the series
