    Scherzer threw 32 pitches tonight.

Good. Fuck the Bankees. Now if Chris Carpenter has to struggle with explaining shit to his son after tomorrow, this will have been a REALLY good first round.

Right, but if that was an equal barometer, then why not count on JV for 56 pitches during game 5? Obviously, throwing in a game five clinching game is much different that a bullpen session. I'd love for him to throw game 2 but not sure how Leyland will handle it.

I think if the Tigers had lost because of a mid game collapse by their pitching that Leyland would be taking a T O N of heat for this.

Yeah, it looks OK now because he can start game 1 but man, that is a an awful risky thing to do. You have your best pitcher so why not keep him available to pitch in a deciding game? Especially with a BP session scheduled for that day.

Of course, on the other hand, what wound up being the deciding run in a one-run game was given up by Sabathia because they put him in for an inning after throwing fewer pitches on the same day Verlander last pitched. So you could use that to say that giving Verlander action would have been a bad idea in HYPOTHETICAL LAND.

It really is a crapshoot. You have no idea how many runs would have been given up if Sabbathia was NOT pitching in taht inning.

I would like to see some compilation of numbers over the years of starters who come in and throw in relief in the postseason. I just dont know enough of the history, numberswise, if it is a good idea or not.

On one hand you have to think that your BP has been good enough to get you into the postseaason so why not let the game play out like normal and only throw a starter if it went extra's.

Am I right in what I had heard that the Spankmee's pitcher left with a tight forearm and left before he probably would have? That could have forced the hand too of Girardi.

That's what they said on TV, that Nova had a tight forearm. It could have been an actual tight forearm, or it could have been an "he's a rookie in a big game, so we'll make an excuse for him getting hit pretty good and being a ticking bomb out there".

I'm guessing he was tightening up because the Tigers were Fistering him, bad pun intended.

Hopefully the Philly Cheesesteak I had for lunch today does the trick! Go Fightin Phils!

I had a (microwavable frozen Stoffer's) Philly Cheese"steak" for lunch today simply to send as much negative karma Chris Carpenter's way as possible.

That pun was so bad that it went full circle and earned a rep.

    Your generosity won't go unnoticed.

Brewers or Dbacks in game 5? I think the Brewers take it in the home park where they've been ridiculous all year, but wouldn't be surprised if it takes some heroics b/c Kennedy is better than Gallardo.

You are a good man. Trust me my stomach has been in knots all day. I have been watching videos all day of Phillies stuff. Hopefully Doc comes out and throws a CG Gem and the Fightin Phils move on to the NLCS.

How does a guy in a sleeveless t shirt get the best seat in the house?

Woman in lower cut yellow shirt eases the eyes a bit.

    Kennedy looks good.

Where do you guys think Prince is headed next year? Not a lot of big payroll teams looking for a 1B

    Cubs? Angels?
  • Ironman92
Gallardo 44 pitches thru 2 inn
  • Ironman92
Not much of a Fielder fan. He produces....but man I couldn't give a guy his weight 7 years.....might go 4 years. He should've signed on and partnered with Braun for the next decade.

    I'll guess Angels

See ya, Upton homer. Gallardo is struggling.
  • Ironman92
Struck out Upton then he hits a HR

    Pressure on Brewers....advantage Dbacks
