2011-2012 Columbus Blue Jackets Thread: Yes, they're still a team

  • chicago510
This team is horrible offensively and defensively. Hence why they are 0-6. Total lack of compete and effort IMO.
  • gorocks99
Another day, another pitiful performance. This ORGANIZATION is a huge joke.

And just as I say that, they score.
  • gorocks99
And there we are, 0-6. Fire 'em all, top to bottom, and start over. Probably in Canada somewhere because this experiment is a big. Fat. Fail.

Quebec City and Hartford are waiting with open arms

Too late to renege on that 29 year lease deal?
  • Fly4Fun
I thought the CBJ were supposed to be good this year?

If Columbus elects a new Mayor he wants to renege on the deal. After losing their first 8 games maybe they should elect the new mayor.

Do they brown bag it in hockey like other sports? I've got a few extra Giant Eagle bags laying around.

Maple Leafs fans do it all the time. They now throw waffles instead.

No reason they are doing this bad they have supposed talent
  • sportchampps
Do you think Carter has a drinking problem which may have been the case in Philly.
  • End of Line
Carter is hurt right now. As long as Hartnell, Richards, and Lupul stay away from him he won't be drunk all the time. I almost forgot about the pornstars, keep them away from him.

Dumb Dumb Dumb Dumb. If the Blue Jackets leave, the Arena District dies. It really is as simple as that.

move this team to quebec and give a city that cares about hockey a team again. although...not sure any city would want this hockey team.

Columbus cares about hockey, that is evidenced by the Jackets' attendance their first 5 or so seasons and the success of the Chill back in the day. The problem is that you can't have an expansion team be in existence this long with such little on ice success and expect fans to pay money (especially in this economy) to go to the games. If the Red Wings or Penguins had played like the Jackets the last decade, they would have no fans at their games either.

For all these people who are clamoring for Columbus to cancel their deal and let the Jackets walk, I hope you don't actually live in Columbus. Because no one who actually lives in Columbus would think that is a good idea. Do you remember about 30 years ago when downtown was a ghetto shit hole? That's what you're looking at in downtown Columbus again if the arena district is allowed to die.

Good post. But either Arneil or Howson needs to walk.

How 'bout both? Howson first though. They have a comparatively huge payroll and are the worst team in the league - by far. What happened to developing and scouting REAL talent? Developing a system? All out the door with these guys.

Fuck Quebec. And fuck Winnipeg too for that matter. And I'd also mention Hartford, but playing in a mall was bad enough.

The king of the "optional practice" would crack the whip?
  • gerb131
Mason left during the 1st period after giving up another weak ass goal. He probably left due to embarassment. Allen York in his first NHL game. Jackets lead Wings 2-1 after 1. Helllooo RJ Umberger only 2.5 weeks late.
  • gerb131
Masons back it remains 2-1 CBJ midway thru 2nd. This team should be ashamed they look good tonight.....god I hate false hope,

At least he held people accountable. Some open seats for the guys if they dont work.

    3-1 after 40 CBJ
  • gorocks99
Holy cow, they won. Up is black, down is white.
