Ehh. I'll peg that fight @ #3 behind those.

Id much rather see the Bones vs Rampage fight than either of those 2 as well

I never get stoked for a Lesnar fight. He doesn't do it for me. I hope Overeem waxes him.
  • sportchampps

More times than not, a big heavyweight bout is them fighting hard for like 2 rounds then gassing. The lighter weight classes not always, but usually provide more entertaining fights bc the athletes are better conditioned. At least thats what it seems like

Some love him (like me) while others hate him. Two things about him though, he goes balls to the wall every fight and he brings in PPV money.

PPV buyrates for him (co-main and Main event)

    UFC 81 600,000 buys
    UFC 87 625,000 buys
    UFC 91 1,010,000 buys
    UFC 100 1,600,000 buys
    UFC 116 1,160,000 buys
    UFC 121 1,050,000 buys

    Average=1,007,500 buys

There is no doubt he sells tickets and PPVs.

Good point, I love watching HW's because they have so much power the fight can end in an instant. Also some of them move like MW's which is crazy(Cain,Brock). Freak athletes, and there is also a certain buzz around a big heavyweight fight.

Technically he's mud. He's just huge, strong, and insane. I understand his appeal, but as a long time fan of MMA, he just doesn't do it for me.

I understand where you're coming from. Just like Brock, GSP has a lot of fans and I personally don't care for him.

MMA for me. I wrestled in high school and still do when I can and I dabble in grappling (do tournaments occasionally, still trying to find a gym that isn't 3242 miles away to go more regularly) so it makes sense that I enjoy MMA. It combines a bunch of sports that I really like to watch and do (wrestling, jiu-jitsu, boxing, etc, etc). Very exciting and I like how the big fights always seem to happen. Outside of injuries there really aren't many fights that people want or need to see that don't end up happening.

GSP is 10 times the fighter Lesnar is or ever will be.
  • Hb31187
Yeah I dont care for GSP in the least bit. But he is 100X more skilled than Lesnar. Lesnar is a freak athlete, and ridiculously strong. But has almost no technique at all. Just bull rushes and drops hammer fists lol.

    GTFO!

I like both, but I hope Jon Jones keeps the belt.

When he fought Couture and Mir II he actually took his time and didn't bull rush. Against everyone else he's done it, and it works sometimes and it doesn't sometimes (especially if you're a wrestler of Brock's caliber ie Velasquez).

@ Automatik. Of course GSP will be, he's been in the sport since he was 21 years old lol.

Chalk me up as one who doesn't care for GSP. He may be a better fight than Brock but I would much rather watch Brock. I like Bones but I like Rampage more. The interview tonight during fight night with Rampage and Bones was hilarious.
  • I Wear Pants
    Rampage is so fun.

you see that interview tonight? Jones looked scared, stammering his words, Rampage looks ready to kill...
  • I Wear Pants
Jones looked like he was trying to build his image as a nice guy whereas Rampage just likes being himself.

Looked like Jones was caught in a lie the way he was stuttering to me.

Same here. I'm double pumped for this fight now after the interview.

    "You getting destroyed homie."

Curious to hear why some boxing fans on here hate MMA.
