Minnesota Twins vs Cleveland Indians series thread

  • Crimson streak
Huge series vs the twins. The tribe need a sweep or at the very least 2 out of 3. The impossible has happen as kearns is finally gone a choo comes back from the thumb injury.

    Game 1- Pavano vs Masterson
    Game 2- Duensing vs Tomlin
    Game 3- Slowey vs Huff

All 3 of the twins starters have an era above 4.50

A happy BRF checking in to celebrate the departure of Kearns!

Boys need to go on a run....GO TRIBE !

Going to finally be going up to my first game of the year on Saturday. Hopefully the offense can get to the mediocre pitching the Twins will be throwing out there and take at least 2 if not sweep the series.

The key is going to be tonight against Pavano. He's one of those guys that has average stats but always seems to kill us. In fact his ERA against the Tribe (2.72) is his lowest among AL teams. We need to give Masterson some run support.

    Go Tribe!

When do they announce the starting lineups? I'll be intrigued to see if Choo is starting tonight.
  • Con_Alma
I would be surprised if Choo isn't starting. I would think they would leave him down if he wasn't going to play with the big boys yet.
  • grodt
^^This. I'd say if they're bringing him up they're putting him in the starting line-up. He might start lower (say 6th or so) to shake the rust off but he'll be in there.
  • fiction
Twins are expected to activate Morneau and Alexi Casilla today

    @thethree8 (Joe Smith):
One more thing MASTERSON = AWESOMENESS. Just a suggestion u may want to come to the Jake, its starting to get fun.

Just went up a few pegs in my book for referring to it as the Jake.

God, I hope Choo found his way back to the bars during his rehab stint.

Choo was starting to heat up when he got hurt...losing Kearns makes today already feel like a win.

I'd think so. I mean, if you're on the DL, what else is there to do?

    That's all he needed then.

Checking In. Go Tribe. Kearns is gone. Expecting Choo in right, Carerra in center and Duncan in left if Brantly can't go again. We need him right. I wouldn't mind seeing Donald get some more ABs.

If Brantley can't go, I think Fukudome will be in left.

They could also DH Choo today, that way he doesn't have to play defense and Hafner gets a day off to clear his head.

I guess I better change my avatar
  • royal_k
Yeah, I can't see Fukudome not starting somewhere.

The Tribe is 5-5 over their last 10 games. (Boston, Texas, and Detroit) All 5 losses are by 1 run. They really need to do better in 1 run games.
  • grodt
According to Buster Olney (so pitcher of salt) Fukudome will be in CF with Brantley in LF and Choo in RF.

And that is a very good outfield.

The outfield is actually pretty good now. Fukudome, Brantley, Carrera, Choo... All outstanding defensive OF'ers and all are at least average at the plate.

So apparently Choo is hitting lead off tonight. That's a bold strategy Cotton let's see how it plays out for them.

Hmmm, not sure I understand that...

I'd swap Choo and Fukudome, honestly.

    Hopefully it works out though.
