Tribe/Rangers: the HEAT of a pennant race

Ironman92Is the Indians Closer named Van de Velde?
-
TBone14Never doubted them for a second today.
-
iclfan2Gosh Perez looks bad lately.
-
BRFWow! Hammy says "Indian's fans, you can breathe"! Whoa! Whew!
-
Ironman92Acts coached em up!
God there are some shitty retreads floating around MLB.....Ohio definately has the two finest! -
HitsRusAll's well that ends well. Texas deserves to lose because their cheers are so lame.
-
BRFHere's to keeping our heads above .500:
What a game that was! -
royal_kListened to the 7th and 8th on the way home from CP. Watched the 9th. The clutch hitting in the 9th inning may have been the best of the season, and probably when they needed it most. Another loss last night, giving them 4 runs in the 7th, could have been the death blow. Fukunomie is starting to swing the bat. Chiz had a great hit after getting down 0-2. Brantley's AB was amazing, and what GOATnis is doing is incredible.
Also, Carmona shutting that line up out for 6 innings is impressive. If he continues to pitch this way, what a boost it would be. Masterson, Jiminez, Carmona and Huff would be hard to beat in a series. (That is the good Jiminez and Carmona) -

http://www.cleveland.com/tribe/index.ssf/2011/08/are_the_cleveland_indians_stil.htmlARLINGTON, Texas -- The big prospects with the big arms have left the building.
Right-hander Alex White and left-hander Drew Pomeranz, projected to be No.1 or No.2 starters for the Indians in the near future, were traded a week ago to Colorado for right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez, who already is what Pomeranz and White are trying to become.
So what's left in the cookie jar? Who are the best of the rest pitchers in the Indians' farm system? Here's a look at the top 20... -

How'd you like CP? Did you get out before that storm rolled through last night? haha...
Also, you forgot to mention Tomlin. He's got the lowest WHIP of any Indians pitcher in a LONG time. -
wes_mantoothAnyone interested in a couple of tickets for the tigers series in a couple weeks? They aren't great seats, but they are free.....tuesday the 23rd.

We were all the way in back when the storm came in and the rides shut down. lol Got to see quite a lightning show on the way to the parking lot. Had a great time though.
I did leave out Tomlin. He leads the team in wins, but has slipped a little lately. But he definitely deserves to be in the conversation. Regardless, we have a pretty formidable pitching staff if they perform up to their abilities. -

The Tigers have shuffled their rotation so that Verlander will pitch against the Indians. -

royal_kDetroit lost to KC 4-3 today. Chance to pick up a game.
-
Crimson streakWe need this one. Going into the Detroit series down 3 games would be huge
-
ts1227Any reason this game is going up against Sunday Night Baseball? Outside of make-up games, MLB likes to not put anything else on at 8PM on a Sunday.
-
BRFLaPorta is not playing tonight because he has a foot injury caused by BRF stomping on it and forcing Acta to put Duncan at first and have Hafner in the line-up.
And we up 1-0. -
Crimson streakMaybe heat reasons? I have no idea

That's my only guess, but it's been hot for a while and you never see a game regularly scheduled up against SNB. It just surprised me when I saw it. -
wes_mantoothlol...what the hell was Napoli thinking
-
iclfan2What was that guy doing going to second there? Brantley threw him out by 5 feet.

Texas is the only place that MLB allows sunday night games. And it is because of high daytime temps. -
wes_mantoothGod, I love how our rotation looks going into the Detroit series.....Masterson, Jimenez and hopefully the good Fausto.
-
Crimson streakI believe we get Verlander game 3
