Gunners get Poldolski and United goes down.

    Not bad for a Monday!

That's a great signing for Arsenal!

I hope he pans out. The last two signings who most thought would help fizzled. Arshavin was decent at first, now shipped out of town. Chamakh=worthless.

He's been dynamite for Germany, I don't know about his form for whatever German club he moved to.

His left footed strikes are absolute world class.

I also can't believe ManU is pissing down their legs with the talent, coaching, and experience they have on their side.

So did Barca (although not in such epic fashion). Happens, but its stunning when it does.

I don't know why anyone would have expected Chamakh to not be terrible. Podolski is legit though.

How is Podolski only 26? Hell, how is he still in his 20s?

Because he was born in 1985

    Why thank you!

But seriously, I guess I didnt realize he was so young when he made his debut in Euro 2004. Kid might play in 4 WCs for Germany. That is incredible for someone who hasnt ever been considered world class.

I hate Podolski with all my heart.

But maybe thats because I dont trust zee germans

I love Marin though (because hes soon to be on chelsea) lol

There are some serious [and real] rumors that Gus Johnson could possibly start being a soccer commentator.

Uh no. Gus did UFC and it sucked. He needs to stick to bball.

He is good on football as well.

I'd like to see Gus give it a try.

He has already done some MLS games, no?

Id imagine he would be a lot like Ray Hudson, who is by far my favorite. So that would be awesome. Only difference is he is PxP, and Hudson is Color.

Gus did some college football I think.

He has done two -- the first being two weeks ago. He's done a San Jose v. NYRB game and the most recent Philadelphia Union game. He's also been on a trip to see Chelsea and AC Milan, at Stamford Bridge and San Siro, respectively.

And, yes, he's primarily been a college football and college basketball broadcaster.

I can get behind that. Like I said, I love Ray Hudson and Gus getting excited about each attempt would be nice.

Here's a fun site of Gus Johnson's soundbites.

Yeah, I think the more he is around it and picking up terminology, he'll be good.

Not being around the game much is his only downfall.

I agree. Dont think it will take him long. I got to interview him once and he spoke at IU once to a group of us. It is unreal how much prep work the guy does. More than any other announcer Ive come across, not named Dan Dakich or Dan Shulman.

Plus, I know from asking him, he really enjoys soccer a lot. So I dont think it will be too bad a transition.

You mean he has been around forever? He's been playing for Germany since he was 18
